Doggy Tired was established in 2014 and since then we have built up a highly successful business, which puts dogs at the heart of everything we do. Over the years we have worked with all sorts of breeds and also dogs suffering from anxiety and aggression. Ann has two rescue dogs herself. Doggy Tired has its own secure field where the dogs can run, jump and climb for the full hour off lead. Dogs have little opportunity to run and play freely with other dogs. Being pack animals, this is vital for their health and well being. A well exercised dog is happy and relaxed and will not resort to negative or destructive behaviours. We guarantee your dog will return to you happy and Doggy Tired. The business is fully insured and both Ann and Liz are canine first aid trained and DBS checked.. We've had the absolute pleasure of looking after the gorgeous Finn for the past week. He's been the perfect guest.🥰 We've enjoyed lots of lovely walks and cosy evenings cuddled up in front of the fire. He really has been a pleasure. I will miss his little tap dance to get my attention and the pushing his nose under my arm. I've loved every minute of it. Finn is my last home boarder, as I will not be renewing my licence at the end of December.
Doggy Tired is now fully closed. It's been a wonderful 10 year journey and I've loved looking after all of your amazing dogs in my home.

We have had the pleasure of looking after the adorable Betsy for the past week. She has entertained us with her cheeky personality. Her favourite activities have been teasing Jess (especially when treats have been involved 😋), sitting on my knee for cuddles and hogging the fire 🔥. We've enjoyed long walks and chasing red squeaky balls. It's been a joy looking after you, Betsy. We're going to miss your 🥰

We've had the beautiful Maisie staying with us at the Doggy Tired Hotel, and it's been an absolute joy. She came with me and Dave to the Lakes to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. We had a glorious walk-up Cat Bells. Maisie, being a Pointer, wanted to chase after all the pheasants 🥰. She has been the perfect house guest, sweet and gentle. We've had lots of lovely walks and cuddles. We're going to miss her 🥰😍

We've enjoyed lots of long walks, chilling in the garden, a picnic in Ullswater, and entertaining guests in a wine and cheese party. The girls enjoyed all the attention and endless cuddles ♥️

Lots of long walks in the gorgeous countryside, strolls along the canal, and lots of splashing about in the river. Elsa celebrated Jess's birthday and gobbled up her birthday cake with relish. We enjoyed lots of cuddles and kisses. She has been the perfect house guest 😍

Rocco has enjoyed a week's holiday at the Doggy Tired Hotel, and we have loved looking after him. He was an absolute darling. We've enjoyed beautiful walks in the countryside, paddling in rivers, and he even took part in a birthday party (Jess's 9th ), party hat was obligatory 🥰. I especially loved the cuddles and kisses on the sofa in the evening (with Rocco 😅). He has been a real joy, and I will miss him.

Dear customers,
Me and Liz just wanted to let you know that our beloved mum passed away on Tuesday. We were both with her.
As you are all aware, Liz and I had been caring for our parents over the last 15 months. The decision to close the business 3 months ago was absolutely the right thing to do. Liz and I enjoyed the most wonderful time with mum, taking her out every day into the glorious countryside and enjoying special times together.
It's been emotional, tearful and challenging at times, but there has also been laughter, joy and wonderful memories created.
Liz and I will now take time for ourselves to process it all and grieve.
Money, business, work are transitory. Family is everything and love is the only thing that matters.

Doggy Tired dog walking business is now CLOSED. Ann, Dave and Liz have retired.
The home boarding side of the business will continue.
Liz will finish her home boarding in December 2024. She will not renew her licence after that date.
Ann is fully booked up for this year and next year. She will not be renewing her licence when it expires in December 2025.

Our Story

Doggy Tired is a dog walking service for Lancaster and the surrounding areas. It has been consistently rated as one of the best dog walking services in Lancaster (as featured in ThreeBestRated.) Ann Williams offers dog owners in the area a friendly and professional service for a reasonable price. Doggy tired has its own secure field where all of the dogs can enjoy running around, splashing in paddling pools and playing with a variety of toys. The dogs are given lots of opportunities to socialise and explore their surroundings. Owners can rest assured that their dogs are being well cared for in a very safe environment.

Ann will collect and return your dogs to you in her special purpose built van with fitted cages, vet approved bedding and full air conditioning. Dogs always travel in style with Doggy Tired! Also, Ann’s fees include a full hour of exercise, so you're not paying for travel time. Dogs will also be returned to their own clean and dry after a good rub down with ultra-absorbent towels. So, no matter how dirty they get whilst out on their walk, you're not left worrying about muddy paw prints all over the house! Discounts are available for OAP's, registered disabled people and households wanting more than two dogs walked at the same time.
