Here at CRU we do like a challenge, but this is going to be our biggest one yet 😬😬😬

1,200 gorgeous Arlington Whites need to find homes within the next 16 days. That means we need to reserve at a rate of 75 hens per day minimum 🫣 So how are we going to achieve this ? If you are wanting to reserve hens for our next rehome on 17th February please get your reservations in ASAP as, due to transport capacity, we only have space for 240 hens to be delivered for both the Hailsham and Hastings collection points. As reservations currently stand this means we only have 77 hens still available before we will have to close reservations for the Hailsham and Hastings collection points. Everyone….. We need your help and these gorgeous girls REALLY need your help.

Our first rehome of 2024 is for 1,200 hard working hens. These girls will still be laying lovely eggs and they would love to lay their eggs especially for you, their new families.

So can we ask you, our fabulous chook army, to step up and help us ensure the processor lorry goes away empty and all of or CRU drivers leave the farm full ?

We can do this BUT we can only do this with your help and support. So please could you:-

With almost a whopping 2000 hens now seeking their forever homes, we will be opening our collection points on two whole weekends to make this possible!
We are looking for loving forever homes for every one of these girls, as they are so very special and can make just as much of a difference to your lives after 18 months of hard work as you would be giving to them!
Just because the kids are going back to school doesn't mean you should be left with an empty nest. Even if you've never had hens before, we have an amazing community ready to offer advice and help to get you started on the crazy world of chickens!

Rescuing and rehoming ex-commerical hens

If you rehomed French Star Ducks on Sunday, you will have no doubt spotted their feathers are not waterproof yet. This is because they are ex-commercial so haven't had access to open water. Do not allow your ducks in deep water yet as they cannot float, use a paddling pool for them to stand and wash in, give them a ramp in and out as they cant jump or climb very well. They will soon gain the waterproof coating, and their beaks will darken to a healthy rich yellow. They may also be alarmed by rain as its unfamiliar, but once used to it they love a wash. The ducks pictured all had an amazing time washing and getting clean and they have already started to fluff up

Online Security!

It’s scary out there with so many scammers trying to take your money.

People do worry when dealing with us for the first time but now we’re becoming well established that is happening less and less.

As we’re a proper registered company with a real address it’s offers some comfort. As one of the directors it is in fact my address, and we’re also one of the many Collection Points.

We’re now going all fancy with our email signature adding in our company details, also on our website of course.

We’re rescuing close to 5000 hens over the next two months so we’re all very excited.
