Before I close the door for Christmas I just want to wish all our customers and followers and all your adorable pets a heartfelt Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

My first Christmas retailing for was spent at the Plymouth Pannier Market before I took the shop in Launceston.

Little did I know that between now and then we would have what seems like a revolving door of Prime Ministers, a pandemic, not one but two impactful country invasions, spiralling grocery costs, mortgage and rent rises but yet your custom and support have given me a year and December beyond my wildest dreams that has led to little souls being rescued and cared for to this day! 🙏 I am truly overwhelmed by the custom, support and sentiments of so many people that have visited our little shop ❤️

I have come to love so many puppers that drag their Mummies and Daddies into the shop with such happiness on their little faces and hope that every one of them get to be thoroughly spoiled over Christmas or in the very least, get to enjoy lots of cuddles and love!

Have dreaded writing this post but sadly I have not been able to find anyone to take the shop over from me which means I have to start the process of winding it down.

From one month today, 19th January, the door will be closed for good!

To mark that, I have started a sale today to clear the shop of all pet products other than the range of natural treats as current stock will slowly whittle down and what's left will go to my Freddie😊

So it means there are bandanas from £2.50, collars from £3.50, toys from £2.00, grooming products from £2.00 and gifts from £1.00.

Nothing has changed in respect of all proceeds down to the last penny will go to changing the lives of rescued animals in Cornwall and Thailand.

For anyone that missed my original post on this matter or for those that have been misinformed, the only reason for the hope of selling the shop is because at the end of January I am going to live and work in Thailand fulfilling a commitment to animal rescue!

Shop hours will remain the same and I will be open during the period after Boxing Day and New Years eve for anyone out and about. 😊❤️🐾

Just received a wonderful donation of Christmas and other items for our shops Preloved basket from a couple of our wonderful supporters! Very cute jumpers and woollies for Jack Russell or Cockerpoo size dogs.

We have quite a bit in the Preloved basket and thanks to some wonderful supporters we have a lot of blankets, food and other useful stuff for the fantastic Paws2Freedom to collect!

We have got quite a few local customers hoping to get a winter cost for their bigger doggos, Labrador sizes so if any folk see this and have something you no longer need you can drop them off to our shop and help us keep some doggies warm this winter! 🙏

Our Preloved donations have raised in excess of £1,600 which has been shared out across our Cornish rescue shelters and Thailandstreet dog rescues. 100% of every penny recieved gets into the hands of the rescues! No fees, no expenses, no costs!

Our Freddies Friends Foundation Instagram page shows exactly the work we do and the shelters we support so everyone can see how their donations are used. Our last post features the rescue of a street dog and her puppies born in a forest, exposed to the elements and snakes but now safe in a shelter soon to be vaccinated and sterilised 🙏

Great Pro tip, (credit to one of our great customers 😊)....

Fill an empty cows hoof with your dogs favourite flavour of doggy Pate. You can pop them into a freezer too to harden them up.

What a great engagement treat!

Since its nearly Christmas why not include them in the festivities and get them some Turkey Pate!

Here's little Pixie in her new custom handmade coat 💖 As most of you know I am self taught and Pixies owner was so kind as to let me use Pixie as a little guinea pig to practise making a custom coat to size and after a couple of attempts we got there and this is the finished result 😍
This is a cuddle fleece lined coat with a water proof layer inside and a D ring attached to the coat as requested
Pixie now has a full set in pink tartan and she looks so beautiful! 💞

We had a visit from local boy Max 😍 yesterday so he could top up on his favourite treats of yummy Venison reward treats with 100% meat content, no additives and available in 50g and 100g packs from just £1.75!

And Mummy picked up a new lead from the Preloved basket for just £2!

Ahhhh 🥰 I was having a rummage through our Preloved shop basket and look at what one of our lovely supporters have donated!!!

A brand new set of waterproof, non-slip, doggy boots! Never worn!!

Ideal for puppers who don't like to get their feet wet or cold or have sensitive toe beans. Suitable for smaller dog sizes like shop model doggo who is about the size of a Jack Russell.

We get wonderful donations of all kinds of dog and cat items. Just had a donation of dog coats and leads, have a fantastic cat tower, bandanas, toys, all sorts!

Pop in and have a good rummage.

Remember, you create your own price! No price labels. Simply make a donation to our animal rescue charity box which every month, is rotated around our 7 Cornish rescues and our Thailand shelter re-build programme.

Our Preloved basket receives amazing donations from out local community of all kinds of doggy and cat items including toys, feeding bowls, baskets, crates, toys, coats, leads, collars even pet food and medicines.

Our policy is not to put a price label on anything. Instead we simply invite customers to donate to our animal rescue charities what they think is an appropriate amount for the item they want to buy.

Through this means alone, we have raised and donated nearly £1500 across 14 different animal rescue organisations in Cornwall and Thailand!

As we head towards winter we would be grateful for donations of coats and wooly jumpers and toys for Christmas gifts.

Speaking of toys and warm stuff, we have a fantastic cat tower in the shop and a really comy radiator seat, ideal for cats and small dogs for the winter!

In addition, we accept donations of blankets, bedding, food, medicines, crates, etc for .countycatcare and which you can drop to the shop and we pass directly too them.

We have recieved some amazing donations of pet items to our Preloved basket and am always hugely overwhelmed by such generosity from our community.

I hope our supporters will take a moment to read and share Kay's Craftworks post.

I am very happy to sell Kay's lovely products on her behalf for which she so generously donates 20% of her sales back to the rescue shelters Freddie's Friends Foundation supports.

She has also, entirely off her own back, run two fundraising events for us among her customers.

She really is a treasure and she will always have a friend in Freddie and me! ❤️

Had a couple of Cool Pods kindly donated to our Preloved basket. They might come in handy to keep your Floofers cool during this unexpected heat wave!

Remember....all Preloved items in our shop are not price labelled, all you do is simply make a donation to our charity jar which gets rotated around monthly for our Cornish animal rescues and our Thailand shelter rebuild projects.

It's the most popular part to our business for
Customers enjoy huge savings and so far our Preloved sales alone have raised over £1500 ....and...it is a great way to keep stuff out of landfill 👌❤️🐾

📢OPEN DAY TODAY

So sorry if any customers were inconvenienced by my late arrival at the shop this morning!

The rearranged Hugs Summer Open Day event is running today. I had planned to go to the original in August but it was rained off and I was carrying their donation from proceeds of Preloved sales back from July so I really needed to drop in before I opened the shop. Whilst I was there I had to have strokes with their beautiful rescue ponies and of course, the famous Dude.

I will post a video on later.

Their event runs to 2pm today. Its lovely and sunny so get down to Hugs with the children and dogs and enjoy a great event which is free to attend. Plenty of parking too!

Wow what a busy week! I've been playing catch up after last weekends events that were so much fun! I've also been making so many lead wraps as they seem to be a big hit!
These can be made with any short word or phrase 🐾 Hugo has "In Training" on his as he is a rescue he displays some behaviours such as barking and becoming stressed in some high intensity environments, this just let's people know that he is still learning and just needs a bit of time to calm down and to give him a bit of space and people have been brilliant at asking to stroke him, rather than just approaching him straight away

Had a visit from Bean yesterday. Lots of sniffage to be done!

Bean is a local customer and he was our very first puppy customer so it's safe to say I have a huge soft spot for him ❤️
