Confidence giver - safe and steady - mother's dream!

Pony Club Pony, schoolmaster, anyone's ride!

Easy in every possible way!

Casper is an absolute gem of a pony, the type that is hard to find. He is a 1st/2nd pony, been there, seen it and done it. He enjoys his work and especially likes schooling and jumping. He is the type that will take a very small person still on the lead rein or will happily step up for a more confident child wanting to jump a course - he really is anyone's ride! More whoa than go - he won't beat any clocks; he is a capable kick along with excellent brakes. Our friend’s complete novice children ride him, and he is always very respectful.

We have had Casper for nearly 3 years. In this time, we have used him for Pony Club, private lessons, hacking and shows. He loads and travels like a dream - my daughter loads him herself. He doesn't like standing in the trailer if you're not driving, however, with a haynet or grass outside he will stand all day. Casper particularly enjoys SJ and has been jumping 60-70cm, he is never strong or excited, just goes at his pace, pops the fence, and carries on!

Casper is the safest pony around; he is a great confidence giver as he is very steady and always respects his rider. My daughter canters him in a head collar in his field. She takes him hacking on Dartmoor, jumping gorse bushes and logs and cantering all over the moor. He never gets fizzy or silly and will happily canter in a group or on his own, always behaving himself impeccably. He has never taken off with my daughter and always stops when asked.

Casper will happily go first or last and doesn't care if the others go away from him. When other ponies start to get excited, he keeps his cool and is unfazed. You can take him to new places, and he will always behave. We recently took him to Area Dressage, it was busy with lots of cars, lorries, kids and other ponies, Casper was his perfect self, totally unbothered by the comings and goings and came 7th in his section!

Casper is a perfect gent on the ground. My daughter handles him by herself and always has done. He is the easiest pony to keep and is very clean in his stable. He doesn't care if he is the only one on the yard and for a time, we did keep him on his own. He will happily be stabled or will live out. Casper is perfect for the vet, to bathe, to clip (the kids do it) and for the dentist - no sedation required. He isn't bothered by livestock or busy roads, loud vehicles or motorbikes, he's just a chilled kind of guy!

Casper isn't the sort that requires regular exercise, he is always the same no matter how frequently or infrequently he is ridden. If you did, however, feel the need to ride after school during winter he'll happily go out in the dark with all the hi viz and lit up like a Christmas tree - he really doesn't care!

Casper had an injury last summer, he has been back in full work since February (light hacking over the autumn and winter, as advised by the vet), we gradually built up his work from the end of February, he has been back in full work since then and we have had no further issues. We do get Casper's hocks injected annually and this has just been redone.

Casper is up to date with vaccines and teeth. He will come with his fitted leather saddle, bridle, rugs, fly masks, etc.

Casper really is a super pony. Everyone who knows him loves him and he has built my daughter’s confidence up – we owe him everything!

The team at Launceston Horse Trials have made the very difficult decision to condense their Cotswold Cup Qualifer in to one day.

They will now run ALL CLASSES on SUNDAY 11th August.

We will be in touch individually with every one who has entered on Saturday to give you the option to swap to the Sunday - we can’t answer entry enquiries via social media.

Entries will stay open until next week, we would really appreciate your support for Launceston, we would hate to lose them as a venue all together.

We are looking for someone to join our team Over 18, experienced with horses and preferably a riding school environment. Friendly and good with clients, organised and practical. Essentially a yard manager type roll.Experience with young horses would be helpful. Initially alternate Saturdays and occasional weekdays. Please email if you are interested to [email protected]
