Meet the Cavies

Located on the Devon / Cornwall border we breed and show self dark eyed creams, chocolates and teddies.

We have also taken in a few rescue guinea pigs in need of a new home. Some of our piggies visit local care homes so the elderly can enjoy them too.

A great day at Redruth Cavy Club for this little chap, ‘Pasty’ wins again. This time he was first in Child’s smooth boar and Best Childs Pet. He really is an award winning Pasty.

Meet ‘Pocket Rocket’, he got his name from his dad who was called ‘Rocket’. When he was born we had to hand feed him as him mum ‘Flump’ was not producing enough milk. He lives with his friend who is called ‘Pasty’.

Time flies it’s not just human babies that grow up so fast - got to find homes for some baby boars now and seems like they only born seconds ago but they already 6-8 weeks old !!

Amazing how quickly these little boys have grown - 3.5 weeks now. They all living with dad now until they are ready for new homes 🙂

Some lovely little babies born this week. Rainbow was out with Misty and Hattie at the end of July and we welcomed these little beauties today and 2 days ago. All chunky healthy fit little babies but think the sow fairy has gone abroad - nearly all boars !! (In box just while I cleaned out not their proper home!)

Tobo and Rolo came to live with us yesterday as their owner sadly wasn’t able to keep them any longer. I know it was a hard parting but I promise we will take good care of them. They are two lovely longer haired boys - possibly with some texel in their breeding. They are still settling in but getting braver and couldn’t resist showing their faces for grass at teatime 🙂 looking forward to getting to know them better

Registered a stud name finally I been resisting for years 😂 I may still show as Jenny as I can never remember whose stud is whose 🙂

Joey is one of our larger Guinea Pigs at 1.5 KG, he loves fresh veg for lunch.

We had 3 gorgeous chunks born today - all boars - but healthy and being well cared for by a very attentive mummy pig. First ever pet litter - a tri teddy sow mated to a dark eyed cream boar. Babies will all be teddy carriers.
