I have Paul Minter staying with me tonight. Getting some well earned rest after a stint from stonehaven to montrose. Paul is running the uk coast line averaging 30 mils a day for his charity Head Up. Always happy to welcome a fellow Household Cavalry man even if he is a Blue😂. Please visit the website and see what they are up to and share. Need to create as much publicity as we can. www.head-up.org.uk

Interesting one last week, a new pony to Blaikiewell animal sanctuary. Over twenty years in Farriery, the longest hoves I've ever trimed and the first time I've ever had to use a hacksaw on a horse. Pony was well looked after by me and the vet during the process. Hopefully will be able to walk much better now, improve its overall condition and live out the rest of its life happily at Blaikiwell.

To all my Customers,

💥Coronavirus/Covid-19 Protocols💥

As we are now under new government measures, I will be applying the following during this period of time:

⭐️ I can not work from home and do feel my job role is necessary for horse wellbeing.

⭐️ I am happy to help myself to a horse that has been left in their stable, that would be my preferred way of dealing with the horses, if present please adhere to the 2 metre rule.

⭐️ I have hand sanitizer in the van, which I will use after and before touching any gates, taps etc.

⭐️ I will be thoroughly washing my hands at every appointment.

⭐️ Please no cups of tea or coffee (😭) for the foreseeable future

⭐️ If you feel unwell or those you live with feel unwell, don’t risk it I’m happy to work on my own where possible or I can work with any nominated person.

⭐️ If I start to feel unwell or members of my family feel unwell, I will do my best to arrange cover during any period of self isolation. Consequently, if any of my local colleagues have to self isolate I am happy to provide cover where possible. We have a great network of farriers in the area and we will work together.

There can be no indication of how long this situation will last. It could be 1 week, 2 weeks or 6 months. The sooner it passes, the sooner we can get back to doing the things we love.

Finally, if any advice is required from my clients regarding hoof care during this time feel free to contact me any time.

Please share

Many thanks
Marc Hill

*Lost Sunglasses*
Found on the track by Inglismaldie Castle about 13:30. Presume a rider just earlier today as fresh hoof tracks and they hadn't been squashed by car, man, nor beast. Obi is diligently looking after them until owner contacts me to collect.
