💜🦄End of an era. Lovely Chance has been with us a full year on Rehab livery and is ready to join his mum back home in the South. 💪🏻 We will be sad to see him leave as everyone loves him dearly but so happy that him and his mum will be reunited. It’s been a joy Chancey! This week we will make sure you have lots of fun with your buddies and give you a good send off. Here is your year at Silverlight Stables! X x x ✨✨✨✨😍

Recent shenanigans at Silverlight Stables! ☀️✨
The heat is keeping us all sleepy, bathed, pampered and happy. We managed a busy show day and have been merrily building new projects and fun in-between our day jobs. Keep your eyes peeled for new adventures coming soon! …. 🐑😝🌷

Summer grass! Patchy this year but still long! We’ve got a three tier permanent track system now and a corral by the gate where it needs resting and to make life easier when moving everyone about. Hamish is out with the lads for now and will then move to the very long inner track when he’s helped the ponies munch a bit down. The boys are very happy! It’ll be a while till Chance can join them as bit too long 😂🤞🏻.
Had a great morning with the RDA, teaching one skills lesson, 3 lessons with a Sensory Story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar and then a little hack.
So much fun! 💪🏻🤓🌻🥰

🐴🤍 Horses don’t understand words. They feel you.

They don’t speak our language,
but they know when you’re happy, when you’re broken,
and when you’re silent simply because you're too tired to fight.

A horse won’t ask why you’re crying.
They’ll just press their nose to your chest — and somehow, that’s enough.
Because they feel your pain even when you’re smiling.
They sense your exhaustion even when you stand tall.
They know when you’re being real… even when the world sees your mask.

In their gaze, there is no judgment.
Only silence that heals.
Only warmth that asks for nothing in return.

Maybe that’s why a horse isn’t just an animal.
They’re a mirror to your soul.
And sometimes… the only one who truly hears you.

🌾
Hang in there. Because they hold you — without asking, without words, just with their whole heart.

When you're still just a little girl,
but deep in your heart you already know — one day you'll be galloping,
riding your very own horse,
through the wind, across open fields, chasing freedom...

It's not just a childhood dream.
It's your goal.
A calling of the soul that never fades with time.
Because true riders aren’t born in stables —
they’re born in the imagination of a child who never forgets what she truly longed for.

Spring at Silverlight Stables. Everyone enjoying natures bounty, although a bit of rain is much needed.

The cows are back next door and seeing them everyday is just the best! We are refencing and building projects as always but had a quiet few weeks of Peter taking the lead as Thunder and I took a tumble out hacking. Got some fun plans we are working on in the background we are excited to unveil….

Work with the RDA has been full on this term and I achieved my next coaching stage which used to be called a “Green Coach” but is now “RDA Coach”, bit confusing but means I’m a rank above a group coach and recognised across the region. Now to begin working towards advanced coach and hopefully working with head office to support inclusive training for teaching and learning. 💪🏻🥰

In the meantime, I’m considering doing some freelance local coaching in the holidays to keep me ticking over non-term times. So keep your eyes pealed for adverts to share and let me know of any young people or beginners that would benefit.

Always !

Always !

Friday focus…overweight horses and horses on full turnout need vitamins and minerals too!

Just because a horse or pony is overweight, it does not mean they do not need nutrients!! ‘He’s / she’s fat, they do not need any feed’ is what I hear frequently! Or, ‘my horse is out at grass now, so they will get the nutrients they need nutrients from that’! This is absolutely not the case at all, they still need added vitamins and minerals whether they are overweight or at grass.

Even with access to summer grass and with good quality hay, vital nutrients will still be missing, so providing a good quality vitamin and mineral supplement or feed balancer will bridge that gap and ensure their body is still getting the nourishment needed for overall health and well-being. It is even more important if you are soaking hay and they have no access to grass; you can’t take everything out and put nothing back in! You only need a little chaff and / or mash to put their balancer or vits and mins into (depending on which you are feeding), so their feeds are not going to contribute to weight gain if you are worried about that!

I get so disheartened at times as you would not believe how many times I hear ‘he / she is a native / good doer, they don’t need any feeds’. So many people see feeds as extra’s they don’t need, particularly at this time of the year when they are spending longer out! But they do need them, they still need a good base diet, just like we do to thrive!

So if anyone tells you that your horse or pony does not need their nutrients requirements meeting and that they should not need any feed due to their weight or the time of year (which I get sick of hearing!), I would definitely not take their advice and carry on feeding your balancer or vitamin and mineral supplement. Remember, these need to be fed at the recommended rate all year round!

“I’ll ride tomorrow”
Tomorrow
Tomorrow
There’s no more tomorrows
No more rides
No more cantering down your favourite track. No more listening to his hooves as you trot down the road. No more Sunday afternoon walks. No more “us” time.
Never say you’ll ride tomorrow, because you never know how many tomorrows you have left. You’ll never know when will be the last time you land a perfect round, or that perfect square halt.
You’ll never know when the last time will be when you amble down those beautiful paths in the summer sun. You’ll never know when will be the last time you reach for the saddle.

So ride. Ride like every time is the last time. Like ever canter, trot, walk, jump and halt is your last. Come home smiling from ear to ear, even if the ride didn’t go as planned.
Give him a pat, a treat, a hug, a kiss. Tell him that he was amazing and you love him. Because even when it doesn’t go right, it may be the last time you get to dream of your goals on his back.

What I’d give to be able to ace a jump course, a perfect halt, to canter down our track, to hear his hooves beat against the road. To reach for his saddle.

So ride it like you stole it. Because each time, you’re stealing back a tomorrow.

Just made this BUSY BOARD for fine motor skills! This is when coaching for HRH Equine comes in handy and means I have lots of spare buckles lying about! Can’t wait for the first students to have a go! 🤓🏡

Yes! Thank you to Dr Lisa Rebecca Schofield for all the learning on land management, which helps us to keep giving back to the land and growing the perfect pasture for our equines.

We use this for Chance, who is only allowed limited grass. He is only out for the morning and dependent on lots of variables.

He also wears a muzzle, which limits his grass intake up to 80%. This means for 2 hours out he is only actually getting around about 20minutes of grass.

Always learning and improving to provide the best for our equines. 💪🏻🌻
