I've got the pleasure of walking this gorgeous boy on an ad hoc term,for the next few days, early morning, lunchtime and evening walks. He is staying with his grandma whilst his daddies are flying to Rome to get married.
Ive walked him a few times for us to get to know each other and I can say we have hit it off big time, he's such a big bouncy cuddle love bug that just loves to please who ever is walking him 💚🥰💚

Another set of little legs has joined the Gingers pack today, he's certainly a character and half. He was so good on our first walk today and enjoyed a good sniffy walk saying hello to a few people walking past. Can't wait to see what mischief we can get up to little one we are going to have so much fun 😁

So I've been walking this big fella for a few months now, he's such a sweetheart that takes everything in his stride. We are not quite upto full time walks yet due to his ailments but he's getting closer with every walk we do. He loves nothing more than a good sniffy walk and according to his mum he recognises the top of my head when I walk past the bushes to collect him so he ends up being a giddy kipper 😁. Super proud of you big fella we will be walking the full hour before you know it 🥰

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌ Hemolytic Anemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog has been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning!

I often get asked how many dogs I have whilst I'm on my walking round, the answer is five. All misfits with their own personalities ranging from a grumpy little legs to a sofa surfing long legs, one that whips you with his tail, one that just loves all the attention and doesn't know what personal space is (staffy 😂) and the baby of the pack who is the gobbiest of them all and likes to lick my leather sofas 😏but I wouldn't be without any of them even though they do drive me bonkers. So here is my own pack aka the spoilt brats

Happy 3rd gotcha day to my snap dragon, she has certainly landed on her paws with her fabulous family who absolutely adore her. I've been in her life for 2 of those years gaining her trust and building up such a strong bond with her, I shall miss her this week as she's away with her family.

So this how this gorgeous girl greets me now, after months gaining her trust I can finally say that she trusts me 100% now. She still has her no go areas and I respect them 100% and I will not cross those boundaries at all

So this gorgeous boy has joined the Gingers pack. He's such a softie and I promise he's not as grumpy as he looks here 😂

Batley pet food bank are in desperate need of wet cat food as they have none now. They don't receive any funding so rely on donations. If you can spare a can or two of wet cat food I'm sure they will be ever so grateful. The petfood bank is proving to be in great need and is getting busier day by day. Just a little update on this beautiful girl. I actually cried this week(happy tears) as I have never had so many hand kisses or her standing at the side of me and leaning on me. We have been on our walks this week but donut has been left at home as she wasn't bothered about bringing it 😁. The bond and trust is getting stronger and stronger each week and I hope it will continue

So after the hot and sticky weather this week, early morning walks and afternoon check ins thankyou to all my clients for understanding why I've done this and I had an emergency check in cover for a few days to a beautiful spaniel who's mummy is in hospital and his daddy was juggling work and hospital visits so the little fella was home alone longer than they wanted. Thankyou to them for trusting me with the little fella whom I nearly kidnapped for being so flipping cute. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need an extra walk or a check in I will be glad to help especially in this weather. Now for a nice cold drink then I get to do it all again tomorrow

I'm so going to miss walking these little legs as his mummy is now on maternity leave. He has been an absolute treasure from the first time I met him my little protector on our walks😁. I hope to see you soon my little friend as I will be ready to rescue the post and get barked at for not getting my treat bag out quick enough.

So with the weather being pretty much the same as today for the rest of the week I am deciding to do all walks before 11am and to do check-ins that have afternoon walks. I hope everybody understands this as I have the pooches best interests at heart. If the weather does cool down towards the end of the week all walks will be back to normal

So guys as its going to be scorchio tomorrow I am aiming to do all walks before midday even earlier if I can ,I will be taking plenty of water out with me as usual I have to protect my furry friends feet and keep them safe, I will make that all the pooches have plenty of fresh water when I leave I'm also keeping an eye on the weather for the rest of the week. Any problems please let me know ###

Since I started Gingers up I have to say that my biggest achievement so far is gaining the trust and building up a strong bond with this gorgeous girl. We have gone from myself sat in the cold in the garden and her inside growling and snarling teeth showing, giving her a treat with oven gloves on as I value my fingers too much even though she still had a nibble now and again 😂, I was ready to give up so many times as I thought it could be done in a few weeks to which it taught me a lesson which is patience is the key. We are now at a stage where I can give her treats without the gloves on and she takes them so gently from my hand, we now go out on walks with her slip lead on as she feels more comfortable with that than me trying to clip her lead on her collar. I get the most fantastic display of tap dancing and brilliant butt wiggles now when I open the door. She still has her boundaries and I will not cross them at all. Oh and if she has her donut on her walks or near her she is a happy girl. A happy pooch is a happy aunty Gem,its been a long road to get this far and no doubt we still have a long way to go but I'm happy to have got this far 😁😁

I am so flipping happy today 😁 After 12 months of building up this lady's trust and going from myself sat in the garden and her in the house not letting me in growling and barking to then allowing me in the house and sitting on the sofa with her, having gentle strokes not rushing her as its all on her terms,to been able to let her out onto the little patch of grass at the front of their house and back again. This gorgeous lady has had a very bad start in life but is now with an amazing family that has supported me with what I've been doing with her. We FINALLY went on our first walk today ,she was so well behaved an absolute star. It was only a short walk but we will be gradually building it up as the weeks go on, This why I love my job and the pooches I walk. Happy pooch Happy Gemma 😁😁
