This is Bailey, Basil, and Sidney who were at our puppy social yesterday and had a great time running around together!
Thursday's puppy class was a ball! As it was our last week, Tanner and Willow decided it was time for a good romp around!
We normally discourage socializing in class to help pups concentrate on their owners, but they can have a play on the last day of school. I think Tanner and Willow had been waiting for this for all 6 weeks!
๐พToday is World Animal Enrichment Day!๐พ
๐ถ Enrichment has so many benefits to the wellbeing of animals, by providing mental stimulation, reducing stress, and encouraging physical activity and natural behaviours like sniffing! Enrichment is also fun, and helps improve animals' brain function and problem-solving skills! ๐ฑ
๐ Enrichment is especially great for animals in kennel environments, as it reduces boredom, builds confidence, and helps them to relax.
๐พ There are so many different types of enrichment games and activities available to buy or make for our pets, as demonstrated by Zeus and Skye in this video! As well as puzzles, kongs, treat dispensing balls, and lick mats, you can also make simple games from items around your home! You could hide treats in boxes, in a knotted towel, or even in the cardboard tubes from the middle of toilet rolls!

Providing grooming for your dog doesn't need to be stressful! Jake here has previously displayed aggression and stress when approached for grooming but through a co-operative approach he has learned getting a brush is pretty good, actually.
Providing your dog with choice and control over what happens and when during scary situations can help them feel safe and make grooming sessions a breeze!

๐พIt's muzzle-up Monday! ๐พ
Did you know it's important that we train our dogs to comfortably wear a muzzle even if we don't actually intend to muzzle them? There may be a time where your dog needs muzzling for an invasive veterinary procedure or grooming, so starting training now means less stress for your dog later!
Jake here absolutely loves when we get the muzzle out for training and happily gets his nose right in there!
Jake is learning how to get in and out of the van ready for some adventures! Jake struggled with the van but is well on his way to loving it ๐ถ๐
