🐾Today is World Animal Enrichment Day!🐾

🐶 Enrichment has so many benefits to the well-being of animals, by providing mental stimulation, reducing stress, and encouraging physical activity and natural behaviours like sniffing and licking! Enrichment is also fun, and helps improve animals' brain function and problem-solving skills.

🐕 For animals like our rescues, enrichment is especially important. In a kennel environment, enrichment games and puzzles reduce boredom, build confidence, and help animals feel calm and relaxed.

🐾 There are lots of different types of enrichment games and activities available to buy or make for our pets, as demonstrated here by Ajay and our now-adopted dogs Zeus, Tala, and Goose! As well as puzzles, Kongs, treat dispensing balls, and lick mats, you can also make simple games from lots of items around your home. You could hide treats in boxes, in a knotted towel, or even in the cardboard tubes from the middle of toilet rolls!
