Hi everyone, we're just letting you know our opening hours over the festive period. Our team will be enjoying a well-earned break and time with their families and pets, but the wonderful team at Swift Emergency Vets will be available 24 hours a day if you need them.

Please make sure you check your pet's medications and order early if you think you might run out in Christmas week. Order by 4pm on Friday 20th December for collection before Christmas.

We have had an adult male long haired grey and white cat brought in to us following a road traffic accident on Hollyshaw Lane near Co-op funeral care. He does not have a microchip.

How gorgeous is Leo?! He came in this week for his vaccinations and was so chilled he nearly fell asleep on the table - awww ☺️
He wasn’t that impressed by a gravy bone, but was much more excited when the liver paste was on offer!

Have you microchipped your cat yet? 😸

It is now a legal requirement to microchip all cats from 20 weeks of age, regardless of whether they are indoor or not.

💜 Why is it important to chip your cat? 💜
It makes it so much easier to reunite your cat with you should they stray or become lost. Scanning their chip will immediately bring up all your contact details so you can be reunited 😍

💜 Will microchipping hurt my cat? 💜
Microchipping can be performed in a consult with one of our nursing team and is quick and no more uncomfortable than a vaccination! The microchip is the size of a grain of rice and will sit under your cat's skin.

If your cat hasn't been microchipped yet, give us a call on 0113 531 6600 and we can book you in with one of our lovely nurses! ☎

We have been open for two years today!
And in that time look how far we’ve come: - We’ve grown from a team of just 5 on day one to 11 wonderful, enthusiastic and dedicated vets, nurses, veterinary care assistants and receptionists today
We’ve performed over 6500 consultations with our vets and nurses
We’ve neutered nearly 1000 pets
We’ve taken over 750 x-rays and scanned over 130 pets
We’ve given over 4000 vaccines to puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats and bunnies
We’ve prescribed over 10,000 doses of preventative flea and worming to protect our patients and their owners from parasitic disease.

And had one puppy born on a consulting room table!

We can’t wait to see what happens in year 3 😊

💙 Bank holiday closure 💙

Our staff are taking a much deserved break this Bank Holiday so we will be closed on Monday to give them a rest.

We are still open as normal tomorrow morning till 12.30pm and we will reopen again on Tuesday morning 😍

Sometimes life is a little scary for our furry friends and they need some reassurance from us… All hail the emotional suppawt box! 😍✨

Cooper visited us recently for neutering and was a little unsure about leaving his family behind for the day. So we made sure he had a huge pile of toys to choose from when he first arrived 🥺

Cooper selected good ol’ Steve the Emotional Suppawt Seal - an excellent and popular choice, young sir! 😎 We sprayed Steve and Cooper’s bedding with Pet Remedy to help him feel the calming vibes too 😚✌️

Leaving your pet at the vets for the day can be worrying but we promise you we’ll always treat them like our own!
