💖 Monthly Moments 💖
Phew, it’s been a very busy January here at LVC! 😅
We’re going to try capture some of our highlights every month in 2024 so here’s our January round-up! We’ve had some adorable patients hanging out with us! It would probably be a ten minute video if we’d captured them all 🤣
Can you spot your pet? 🥹
It’s Stirling’s dancefloor and we’re just standing on it 🧍🏻♀️
Happy New Year to all our wonderful clients and patients! 🎉
We’ve had a great year and want to thank you all for your support! It means so much having you all visiting our little growing practice, we couldn’t wish for better clients! 🥹
Can you spot your pet in our highlights video? 😅 Here’s to many more years hanging out with our furry friends!
Got the Monday feels? 😫
It’s okay, Polly is here to help you relax! 🙏🧘🏼♀️
Polly has heard that ASMR is all the rage online so she’s decided to give you a little soothing montage of her chomping her treats 🥹
Maybe we should make this a regular feature on a Monday? Let us know 🤣
Anyone need a personal trainer to keep them in shape? Well you can hit up Patsy for all your fitness needs! 💪
We’re tired out just watching her charge around our prep room! 😅 Patsy spent the day with us for neutering and had us all in stitches with her pre-op antics!
We love letting our pooch patients have a wander around the back of the practice before they settle into their kennels. Makes them feel much more relaxed and Patsy certainly made herself at home! 🤣
A very satisfying pre-lunch ✨scritch✨ for Milo! Just look at that content face! 🥹
Milo visited us for follow-up X-rays today after he suffered a fractured pelvis back in August. James performed surgery at the time to pin Milo’s pelvis back together so we were excited to see his progress today!
We’re happy to report that handsome Milo is now able to walk well again and his X-rays showed a fabulous amount of bone healing in such a short space of time!
Milo is currently being cared for by Bradford Cat Watch Rescue & Sanctuary and is the sweetest soul! We’re wishing him all the happiness in the world in his new home! 😻
Welcome to Moggy’s Got Talent! 🎶🎤
Staff cats Willow and Ralphy can really hold a tune can’t they? We were quite impressed with their vocal range when they visited! 😹
We love it when our feline patients sing along with the radio! We always play Classic FM for our patients in cat ward to help them relax.
Did you know that a recent study found that cats prefer classical music whereas dogs prefer reggae! 😁 Two very different vibes! 😹
We hope you’ve all had a wonderful Bank Holiday and what better way to round off the weekend than with PUPPIES! 😍
This gorgeous litter of Cocker Spaniel pups visited Katherine for microchipping and they were full of mischief! 🤣
Working in a veterinary practice can have it’s difficult and sad moments but appointments like this really put a smile on your face! 😁
For the love of god, nobody say the word “ball”! 🎾🤪
This beautiful lady is Lottie who visited us for neutering today. Lottie was such a good girl quietly waiting in her kennel, until… THE BALL arrived! 🤭
We should’ve known better as any Border Collie owner knows how obsessed these guys are with fetch! We’re fairly certain Lottie could’ve continued this game all day but unfortunately we had to pause proceedings to get her spayed 🤣
Thank you for keeping us all entertained today Lottie, you were a fabulous patient! 😍

We’ve been super busy the last few weeks and have so much to share with you all, including a very special occasion tomorrow! 😉
But what better way for us to start the week, than with a very satisfying case!
This handsome boy is Ralphy Pudding and he belongs to vet Katherine. Poor Ralphy had been sneezing for the last week so we popped him under anaesthetic today to see if we could find a reason for his snuffles 🤧
Lo and behold, we found a huge blade of grass stuck up one of his nostrils - ouch! We don’t often get a quick satisfying fix like this in our line of work so we take our hero moments where we can! 😅
Ralphy was feeling much better after we removed the pesky grass and was back to singing in his kennel in no time! 😸 Well done beautiful boy! 💙
We can’t be having our patients go hungry! 🙀 Time for a weekend restock courtesy of our receptionist Tracey! 🥹
What’s your pet’s favourite when they visit us?
We love how so many of our pooch friends stop by for a daily gravy bone on their walks! 🥹
Nothing makes us happier than a bunny wolfing their food down! 😍
Caramel was neutered with us last week and decided she was going on hunger strike while she recovered! 😱
Rabbits have a very different digestive system to dogs and cats - it’s constantly moving and if the digestive tract slows down or stops, it can lead to a life-threatening condition called gut stasis. For this reason, we very closely monitor bunnies recovering from an anaesthetic. When Caramel’s owners noticed she wasn’t eating as much as usual, we admitted her for a couple of days to make sure she got those guts moving again!
We made sure she was comfortable with lots of lovely pain relief and provided her with a whole buffet of snacks to feast on! If you spotted a stray vet wandering around the ring road this week, that was Katherine searching for the best dandelion leaves for Caramel! 🤣
As you can see in the video, she was soon happily munching again and we’re happy to report she’s back to her normal self now! 😍 We loved having Caramel with us, she was the perfect patient! 😁💕
We love a happy ending! 🥹
Buzz and Woody spent a few days with us recently after finding themselves in similar situations. Little Woody was handed into us by a member of the public and Buzz was surrendered by his previous owner to Cat Action Trust 1977 Leeds 😢
C.A.T kindly offered to find a home for Woody too so we got the boys in tiptop shape by neutering, microchipping and treating them for fleas and worms.
The whole team were absolutely smitten with the pair of them - they were the sweetest moggies! 😻
We work very closely with Cat Action Trust and want to say a big thank you for all the work they do. Not only do they take in stray cats and find them loving homes, but they also run a very impressive Trap/Neuter/Release programme for feral cats.
If you’re interested in giving a cat a loving home or want to make a donation to a fabulous cause, please check out their page linked above! They’d really appreciate your help 😺
Good luck in your new adventures boys! 💕
How about a #MedicalMonday post to start the week? 💊
This handsome chap is Dylan and he belongs to our vet Katherine. Dylan has had a bit of a hard time of it recently! We discovered he was in kidney failure back in September when we ran routine blood tests before a dental procedure 😿
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a very common condition in older cats with clinical signs such as weight loss, poor appetite, lethargy and increased thirst/urination. But sometimes the signs may be more vague, meaning the condition goes undiagnosed until it's progressed significantly.
High blood pressure is a common symptom of CKD so here is Dylan having his blood pressure readings recorded when he was initially diagnosed. We take BP readings from animals in a very similar way to how we take them on ourselves, but obviously with a much smaller cuff for their legs! 🥹
Dylan has been taking medication to lower his blood pressure, as well as eating a special prescription renal diet. He was also anaemic so Katherine administered regular iron injections alongside a special drug that stimulates red blood cell production.
We're happy to say Dylan is responding well to treatment and his blood test results have improved over the last few months! He's been so brave and we think he deserves all the Dreamies! 😅
We know how everyone worries when they have to leave their pet at the vets for the day, especially if they’re a bit scared of us 🥺 But here at Leeds Veterinary Centre, we do everything we can to make the experience relaxing for your precious fur babes 🥰
This gorgeous guy is Ralph and he’s been visiting us recently for various diagnostic tests. He can be a bit worried at the vets so we made sure he got plenty of treats and fuss to reassure him 😍
He spent the day in one of our lovely big walk-in kennels with a squashy mattress, toasty heating on and the radio playing some good tunes 🕺 And to top it off, Danielle spoon fed him his lunch! What a little prince! 🥹
We’ll be posting more behind the scenes pictures and videos with our team so keep an eye out for your pets!
