As the YCA grows, I can’t deny the mounting pressure to perform well with Stark.

It would be easy to avoid competing and not put my name on the line.

While I don’t claim to be an expert in the sport, PSA allows me to prove that we’re willing to put our money where our mouth is. As an educator, it’s important for us that we do well, although it makes me sick to my stomach with nerves.

Kudos to anyone who steps onto the trial field and genuinely tests their skills. For those who only talk behind a camera, making big claims about dog training from the comfort of your home, you’ll probably not appreciate the feeling I had today—you probably never will.

Thankfully, Stark has 0 idea how much s**t his dad chats online and managed to keep enough cool for the both of us 😂

“How can I get my two dogs to get along?” 🤔🤔

Well, you can’t. Perhaps you can help them be more tolerant of each other, more respectful of each other’s space and learn to cohabitate. But, forcing two dogs to try to like each other by having them share treats, toys and space often creates more conflict than what you originally had. Some dogs are chalk and cheese, and sometimes it’s better left that way.

After the success of our Festival in August we'd like to invite you to the Spring Fest at Yorkshire Canine Academy.

This time around, we'll have demos from Critical Impact K9 and Crown PSA. We'll have (human) food from Meanwood Pizza and Savvy Baker, drinks from Meanwood Brewery, and dog food from Nell's Natural Raw Food.

We'll also be joined by Poppy's Potting Shed and Noeth Designs who'll be providing some goodies for your homes.

Jacob and the team will be hosting various workshops throughout the day, including a special seminar on reactive dogs.

Here there and everywhere, your puppy is a sponge between 6 and 16 weeks expose them to the world they’re due to live in.

BONUS TIP ⚡️: Don’t introduce them to every dog they see, a couple here and there is fine.
