Hello and welcome to Home Comforts Pet Sitting! 👋🏼

I realised recently that although I’ve gained lots of lovely new followers over the past 5 years, I’ve never properly re-introduced myself!

My name is India and I’m the person behind Home Comforts Pet Sitting ❤️

I officially launched the business just over 5 years ago, but I’ve actually been caring for pets for friends, family and local owners for over 10 years. What started as helping people out, quickly turned into something I absolutely loved and eventually became the business you see today.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life. If you’ve followed my page for a while, you’ll probably recognise my family dog, Sylva. She has joined me on many walks and adventures over the years, but she’s slowing down a little bit these days and will be turning 13 in a couple of weeks 🥳 🎂

Whether it’s dog walking, pet visits, or equine services, I genuinely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners.

I currently offer:
🐶 Dog walking (with a maximum of 4 dogs per walk)
🏡 Drop-in visits
🐾 Cat and small animal feeds
🐴 Equine care

Alongside running Home Comforts, I’ve recently finished my Physiotherapy degree and am waiting for my HCPC registration before officially qualifying as a Physiotherapist 👩🏼‍🎓

When I’m not with your animals, you can usually find me out hiking, running, camping or catching up with my friends and family! 🏔️ 🏃🏼‍♀️ ⛺️

It’s been another busy week of walks, cuddles and quality time with some of my favourite furry friends ❤️

There have been lots of dog walks, plenty of fusses and a lovely pet sit with the gorgeous Bella 💛 🐾

⛰️🐾 Callie’s Big Day Out 🐾⛰️

One of the things I love about my job is being able to give dogs experiences that go beyond their usual walks.

Every now and then, if I’ve got a young, fit dog booked in and I’m planning a longer adventure of my own, I’ll ask their owners whether they’d like their dog to come along. If not, no problem at all, I simply choose a different day for my hike.

So far, nobody has ever turned down the offer 😆

Last weekend, Callie joined me and some friends for a 9.5-mile circular walk from Bolton Abbey to Simon’s Seat and she absolutely loved it! 🥰

Although it’s been incredibly hot recently, the temperatures were much cooler on the day of our walk. Even so, keeping Callie safe and comfortable was my top priority. I packed plenty of water, we took regular breaks in shaded areas and made the most of every river, stream and puddle we came across. Callie enjoyed lots of cooling-off dips and I made sure she was thoroughly soaked at every opportunity to help keep her cool throughout the day 💦☀️

After all that exploring, we finished the adventure with a BBQ before heading home. While we ate, Callie relaxed in the shade on a cool mat and enjoyed a well-earned rest after all those miles 🐶

Safe to say, she slept very well that evening! 💤

Thank you to Callie’s owners for trusting me to take her along on an adventure. I think it’s fair to say she had a brilliant day 🐾✨

✨ Exciting news from Home Comforts Pet Sitting! ✨

After a busy period of balancing university, clinical placements and caring for your pets, I’m so excited to have handed in my dissertation and be focusing even more on growing Home Comforts Pet Sitting and welcoming new furry friends! 🐾

For the past 5 years, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of providing trusted, loving care for pets in and around LS16, and I’m now expanding my availability for:
🐶 Dog walking
🏡 Drop-in visits
🐾 Small animal feeds
🐴 Equine services

Whether you need regular walks, help with your pets while you’re at work or out having fun, or reliable care while you’re out of town, I’m here to help.

✨ Placement Update ✨

The end is finally in sight!

My physio placements are nearly finished and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for everyone’s patience over the past few months.

I know it’s been less than ideal with me being unavailable for up to 6 weeks at a time for my usual pet sitting/walks and I really appreciate your understanding ❤️

I’ve got one final placement left, starting in January and lasting 6 weeks. This one is a sports placement, so it won’t follow the usual Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm NHS pattern. In previous placements I was able to offer evening visits/walks during the week and Friday night–Sunday night sits, but this placement will be a little different.

I’m currently waiting to book a meeting with my educator to get a clearer idea of my schedule. Once I know what my working pattern will be, I’ll be able to take bookings around those hours. It’s likely I’ll be working morning and evening training sessions, plus a couple of match days per week (which could fall on weekdays and/or weekends).

✨ The good news ✨

After this placement, I’ll be back to my usual lectures and assignment writing, meaning I should be able to return to my normal pet-sitting and dog walking schedule from February/March time 🐶🐾

🎄 Christmas bookings 🎄
I am taking bookings over the Christmas period as always! However, the evening of New Year’s Eve and the morning of New Year’s Day are reserved for celebrating and hangovers only 😂🥂

🌟 Checking In! 🌟

Hey everyone! Just popping on here to say that I’m missing all of my furry family SO much whilst I’m out on university placement! 🥺🐾
Especially my regulars who I usually see every week – I can’t wait to be back for all the cuddles, walks, and tail wags! 💕

I’ve been lucky enough to squeeze in a few petsits and small animal visits around my placement hours, but I’m more than halfway through now – not long to go until I’m back to my normal schedule! 🎉
And with the warmer weather on the way, it’s going to be amazing! I’m dreaming about the days where I can get lost in the woods with the dogs, with the sunshine peeping through and keeping us warm ☀️🐶

A few of you have asked how things are going, so here’s a little update - I got a 2:1 for both of the exams that I sat after Christmas (yay! 🎓) and my mid-placement review went really well – I’m currently scoring at a 1st in most areas! Fingers crossed I can keep it up! 🤞

I’ll be back properly very soon, and once placement is finished, I’ll have loads more free time up until the end of August – so expect plenty more updates and adorable pet spam! 📸🐾
