Well it’s been a big maintenance day at The Secret Garden Dog Park today!

We’ve had a complete tree inspection and all dead wood has been removed to keep the park safe. This has also involved felling the silver birch in the middle of the woods as it was rotten and dangerous. See before and after in the photos.

Our thanks to Keighley Tree Services Ltd for a good job done

All the chippings have been left on site and will be used on the woodland paths and agility area

🔴 If any of you regulars have a great idea how to use the birch tree (which has been cut into sort of manageable chunks) - just let us know. It’s definitely staying in the park though so you can’t take it home for your wood burner!!

You may have seen the swish poster but want to know more about my Perfect Puppy course and how it would be beneficial to you, your family and more importantly, your pup?

Here’s a brief overview of what you will learn….sorry I lied…it’s a not so ‘brief overview’ but I just want you to be as informed as possible so you know you’re getting enough bang for your Buck!

The main focus of the course is to give you the tools to help your puppy grow into a confident dog with good manners, in a fun and positive way. We’ll do this by laying the foundations to:
🐾 focus/eye contact
🐾 recall
🐾 loose lead walking
🐾 hand touch
🐾 Leave it & Out
🐾 Sit & Lie down
🐾 Stay
🐾 Polite human greetings
🐾 Distraction management
🐾 Puppy confidence & socialisation

My classes are designed to be fun and engaging yet packed with information and transferable skills that you can utilise throughout their lifetime, such as in the park, vets, groomers and around the home etc.

Along with the in person training, you will also receive:
🐾 handouts & access to videos to help retain information and skills taught.
🐾 I’ll be your ‘trainer in your pocket’ with a WhatsApp group just with you and your fellow course members.
🐾 I’ll also be available throughout the course duration to help with common puppy issues you may be having such as biting, chewing, toilet training etc.

Each puppy will receive a goody bag at the start of ‘term’ and successful pups will graduate with a Perfect Puppy Certificate.

The course is £100 (approx £17 per session) with no more than 6 puppies in attendance. A £25, non refundable deposit secures your spot with the remainder (£75) due on or before 5th September.

Suitable for all puppies up to the age of 6 months at the start of the course, who’ve had their second lot of injections.

I am thrilled to announce we have a start date for our new Perfect Puppy course which is jam packed with learning opportunities for both you and your pup!

Tap into my expertise and knowledge as I guide you through the early stages of puppy ownership - I know it can be a tiring and testing experience but also one that is so very rewarding and filled with oodles of fun and laughter!

My course consists of 6 classes held weekly at The Secret Garden Dog Park 6:30pm - 7:30pm from 12th September 2024.

Includes a free goody bag when you start and Puppy Graduate certificate on successful course completion.

We will be CLOSED on MONDAY 19th for essential tree maintenance

Dead branches will be removed from all the trees ahead of the autumn gales to ensure your safety in the park

This will unfortunately include felling our beloved old silver birch which is rotting from the bottom so no longer safe. But don’t worry, it won’t be disappearing altogether, just going from vertical to horizontal!

We’ve loved having Michelle and the All Paws gang visiting The Secret Garden Dog Park over the last few weeks whilst she’s been recovering from a broken foot

This is an unexpected benefit of the field - it can allow professional walkers to continue to work whilst unwell or injured! Win win 😂
