Show them you care this Valentine's Day and skip the lilies 💐

Did you know lilies are toxic to cats? Ingestion of the leaves, flowers, and pollen can cause potentially fatal side-effects if left untreated.

Signs of lily poisoning include:
🐱Vomiting
🐱Not eating
🐱Drooling
🐱Drinking/urinating more
🐱Twitching
🐱Seizures
🐱Sudden death

If you think that your pet may have ingested any part of a lily plant, or if they have signs of it on their fur, you must see a vet as soon as possible!

Cat safe flowers include Astilbe, Freesia, Lisianthus, Limonium, Roses, Snapdragons, and Sunflowers. 🌻

⭐️ Bravery Award Winner! ⭐️

This is lovely Cooper 😍

Cooper had been having some diarrhoea that didn’t resolve so we did an abdominal ultrasound and found a liver tumour! 😮

We did x-rays to confirm that this hadn’t spread to his chest and then we managed to remove it. Cooper recovered so well from his surgery, and is such a happy boy that his tail was wagging all through his ultrasound! ❤️

We’re so glad you’re doing well Cooper 🥰

“What happens when my pet has a dental?” 🤔

Firstly they will have a health check from one of our vets, then we will take a blood sample to check their organ function. 🩸
If that’s all fine then they will be sedated and anaesthetised.🩺
Their teeth will be cleaned with an ultrasonic scaler, and we will make a chart of any issues such as gum recession or fractures.
We will take x-rays to check all the roots and let you know if any teeth need to be removed.
Just like when we have teeth removed we will give pets some local anaesthetic to make sure it is as pain-free as possible! 💉
Once they’re awake we will offer them some food, and then they can go home ❤️

We will also book them in for an appointment with one of our nurses to make sure that everything is healing up well 🤩
