Tropical World at Roundhay Park is one of West Yorkshire’s most popular family attractions neighbouring Leeds' beauty spot Roundhay Park. Our zoo offers a unique opportunity to explore the habitats of the tropics and other hot places from around the world whilst only venturing as far as Leeds! The attraction includes jungle, desert, mangroves and aquatic habitats with plants and animals such as cr

ocodiles, butterflies, snakes and a gorgeous family of meerkats! Cold drinks and ice lollies are available to buy if you need to cool off or you can pop along to the Tropical World Café for teas, coffees, cakes or lunch.

We have a new bird on the block 🐦

Meet Roger, he's a Victoria Crowned Pigeon. He has moved to us from Sheffield’s Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife Conservation Park.

You can see him strutting his stuff with the other birds around the Waterfall House.

He can't wait to meet you all this half term ✨

Find out more about car parking charges that are now live 👇

Starting today, 10 February, car parking charges are now in effect at the following parks:
Roundhay Park (including Mansion Lane)
Temple Newsam Estate
Golden Acre Park
Leeds Urban Bike Park (Middleton Park)
Otley Chevin Forest Park

Parking will remain free for blue badge holders.

We do not use QR codes to take payment for parking. Payments will be accepted at pay and display machines using a contactless bank card or via the PayByPhone parking app.

Due to recent vandalism, some pay and display machines may be out of order. You can purchase your ticket by calling: 0330 400 7275.

Payment can also be made by cash or card at Tropical World shop, Temple Newsam gift shop, Golden Acre Park café, St George's community hub and Otley Community Hub.

The charges will help fund necessary maintenance and better facilities at the parks.

Car parking charges at local Parks 🚗

From 10 February, car parking charges will be introduced at the following parks across Leeds:
👉🏻 Roundhay Park (including Mansion Lane)
👉🏻 Temple Newsam Estate
👉🏻 Golden Acre Park
👉🏻 Leeds Urban Bike Park (Middleton Park)
👉🏻 Otley Chevin Forest Park

Car parking fees will be:
👉🏻£1 for up to 2 hours
👉🏻£2.50 for up to 4 hours
👉🏻£4 for up to 12 hours
👉🏻£10 for a month (across all parks sites)
👉🏻£80 for a year (across all parks sites)

Your contributions will help fund site improvements and maintenance.

You can pay for parking by using the pay and display machines (contactless card only) or by the PayByPhone App.

Pick up your FREE trail at the admissions desk from Saturday 30 November. ✨ Keeper Talks ✨ Visiting on a weekend? Stop by and listen to one of our Keeper talks at 2pm in Creature Corner. ✨ Children's Craft Activities ✨ Pop into our Activity Room and make some decorations to brighten up our Christmas tree or take home to add to your tree. Discover the different zones including jungle, mangroves, desert, and aquatic habitats with beautiful plants and our residents like crocodiles, butterflies, snakes and a gorgeous gang of meerkats!

After working up a thirst trekking through rainforest and desert make the most of your family day out by stopping off at the café for refreshments. The stylish conservatory overlooks the beautiful Canal Gardens. There is plenty of seating both inside and out for those warmer days!
