🐰 Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease is a widespread, life-threatening virus ⚠️

Often called viral haemorrhagic disease, it is seen frequently in unvaccinated rabbits because it spreads quickly through direct and indirect contact with infected rabbits.

The best way to protect your pet is with regular vaccinations throughout their life. This not only protects them but also decreases the spread of disease.

If you have a pet rabbit and need to check if their vaccinations are up to date, or need to get them booked in, call the clinic and speak to a member of the team.

What to do if your cat is stung by a bee 🐝

If your cat’s curiosity leads to a bee sting, don’t panic.

Most stings are mild, but some need a vet’s help — especially around the face or if they’ve had a reaction before.

Keep calm, apply a cold compress, and know when to call
us.

🐰🌿 Rabbit Awareness Week 2025 is here! 🌿🐰
June 23rd – June 29th 2025

This week, we're shining a light on the UK’s much-loved – and often misunderstood pets, rabbits.

🐇 Did you know rabbits are the third most popular pet in the UK? Yet, many are still misunderstood when it comes to their care. This year’s focus is on — promoting better diets, proper housing, and enrichment for a bunny’s well-being.

🐰We have created a fabulous display in the waiting room of our exotic clinic with lots of useful information about how to care best for the wonderful rabbits in your life. Please take a look if you are visiting our exotic clinic this week.

Our Story

Holly House is an RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital, treating cats and dogs as well as a wide range of exotic pets, from rabbits to reptiles.

At our Street Lane hospital, we provide the only 24-hour onsite emergency service in North Leeds, as well as round-the-clock critical care for all our inpatients.

Due to popular demand, in April 2017 we opened a second clinic at the Moor Allerton Centre. Holly House Veterinary Clinic has 5 consulting rooms, separate dog, cat and 'small furry' waiting areas, a theatre suite, dedicated dental theatre complete with dental x-ray, an on-site CT scanner, and is situated just a mile down the road from our Street Lane Hospital.
