Cats in England must be implanted with a microchip before they reach the age of 20 weeks, and their contact details must be stored and kept up to date in a DEFRA-compliant database like ours.

Cats must be microchipped by 10 June 2024, and if found un-microchipped, the cat's keeper will have 21 days to have one implanted, or they could face a fine of up to £500.

We offer a mobile microchipping service and are able to visit you in your own home to microchip your kitten/cat/puppy/dog. Discount given for multiple pets microchipped at the same address on the same visit. Please DM for further information.

It is worrying that there are still a large number of dogs that have not been microchipped, have unregistered microchips or the keeper details haven't been kept updated.

Please check yours just to make sure. The value of a microchip is only as good as the data linked to it.

If someone is offering microchipping at an unbelievable price, make sure that includes the registration and don't just accept that it will.

If you don't have confirmation of the microchip registration within 2 weeks of the microchip being implanted, contact the registration database company.

Pudsey Carnival can't take place this year due to the planning difficulties caused by the Covid restrictions. However, our local councillors and the event organisers have managed to establish the Pudsey Feast. You'll see much of what would usually be at the Carnival with the exception of the parade. Animal corner is where we'll be with our NESSR stall and we'd love for you to drop by, say hi and enter your canine companions in the dog show. We're on Queens Park, Pudsey from noon until 6pm.

Yesterday's lunchtime walk was memorable with a minor incident resulting in 7 hours spent at the hospital. On lead dog wraps around my legs and then chases squirrel. Result, painful dislocated finger. Thank goodness for a supportive team so that our work can continue with minimal disruption.

There is concern at present regarding proposals to introduce compulsory microchipping for cats. This follows legislation introduced in April 2016 requiring that all dogs be microchipped. We are able to offer a mobile microchipping service for individual dogs or cats, litters of puppies or kittens and even multiple adult cats and/or dogs. Our pricing is extremely competitive and includes the initial registration on either the Petlog or Animal Tracker database (please make your preference know at the time of booking). Pricing is £15 for the first, reducing to just £10 each if there are 6 or more at the same time and location.
