📣 Calling all good doggies! 📣

We need some good doggies to be models in our amazing Dog Grooming Training Academy! ✨

All types of dogs are welcome but they must be okay with the appointment being a little longer than usual! 🐶

Our training academy appointments are either at:
- 9am till 12pm
- 1pm till 4pm

When you come in for your appointment you will be greeted by our amazing teacher Molli who will go through everything that you’re wanting today and if there is anything we need to know about! ✨

Then you will leave your pooch and Molli will take them to the training room (which is a separate quieter room from the main grooming room) where they get to have a little sniff around so they get familiar with the room, while Molli and her student set everything up!

Then once they are all ready, the student begins grooming with Molli at their side watching and helping the whole way! ✨

They get lots of kisses and cuddles throughout the groom and its at more of a relaxed pace as it is a training groom 🐾

How relaxed and super chill is this gorgeous girl that Molli groomed! 😍🐶✨

Well it definitely is starting to feel a lot more colder 🥶 but at least it’s lovely and the sun keeps shining through! 🙌

We hope you all had the most amazing weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead! 💜

✨ Look how much hair came out of Merlin! 🤯

We had an exciting day yesterday in our training academy as the students got to work on de-shedding the lovely Merlin! 🐶

De-shedding is the perfect treatment for your short haired dogs who malt!
We use a special tool which enables us to grab all of the dead hairs from your pooches coat so it is looking healthy, fresh and vibrant! 🙌

This appointment can be paired with our de-shedding shampoo which enables even further to grab the dead hairs from your pooches coat to guarantee no malting!!
This can be added on as an extra treatment when you come in or when you book! ✨

A de-shedding appointment is a good one for the academy students and is always lots of fun seeing how much hair comes out of your pooch and if you book in with them then it’s a bit cheaper! 🫢

Meet the charming and bubbly Charlotte! 🥰

Charlotte is another one of our own newly qualified groomers who graduated from our academy with flying colours! 🥳

Charlotte loves doing the big breeds such as German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers but is also enjoying grooming toy poodles! 🐶

Charlotte is another one of our students who grasped grooming almost instantly with an eagerness to learn and a passion to groom! ✂️
All the dogs absolutely love her and love playing with her and giving kisses! 😘

She has fit right in straight away with all of the team and we love her sunshine energy chit chatting away while she’s grooming in the salon to us! 🌞

🎄 Eeeeek it’s getting so close to Christmas now! How fast has it all come back around?! 🫢

🦷 We do Canine Teeth Cleaning here at Mrs B’s 🙌

Keeping up with your dog’s dental hygiene is important as it keeps their teeth healthy and helps to prevent tooth loss.

Overtime dogs can have a massive build up of plague which then can lead to tooth decay and problems.

One way to keep on top of this is to get your dog’s teeth cleaned here at Mrs B’s! We do it with an EmiPet Toothbrush which is specifically made for dogs.
It looks like a normal electric toothbrush however, it uses ultra sonic waves to help break up the plaque on your dogs teeth while they are being brushed.
After the plaque has been able to break down we can then remove the plaque off their teeth like the picture shown above.

Depending on your dog’s teeth depends on how easy we can remove the plaque. Therefore it may not be all removed in the first session, especially for the back teeth, as we can only do what the dog allows and the plaque may need some more breaking down before we can remove it.

A good way to break down the plaque is regular appointments but also giving your dogs treats and toys that they can chew in between to help break down the plaque even further! ✨

We have some new natural dog treats that you can purchase here at Mrs B’s after your dog’s teeth cleaning appointment which will naturally help to break down your dogs plaque in-between, keep them entertained and help towards keeping your dogs teeth healthy and happy! 🐾

🎓 Congratulations to our amazing students Charlotte & Molly ✨

They have completed their iPet Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management 🐶

This is the 30 day course where we aim to take you from a complete beginner to a competent and confident dog groomer by the end of the course! 💃

You will generally groom 2 different dog breeds a day with varying coats.
This is to ensure that you have a wide range of knowledge on most dog coats, so you feel confident and are able to groom the highest possible standard! ✂️

You learn Canine Emergency First Aid ⛑️ which is a great thing to learn on the course, but also an added bonus if you have your own pooch at home! 🙌

They have both been amazing throughout the whole course brightening up our days in the salon! ✨
They have both fit really well within the team, especially when they’ve worked in the official dog grooming salon and grasped dog grooming straight away!
They are both wonderful dog groomers who will be an asset in the industry! 🐾

We have some amazing natural dog treats here for your gorgeous pooch at Mrs B’s! ✨

We are selling them individually or in treat bags ranging from small to large which can include:
- Pigs ears 🐷
- Chicken Feet 🐔
- Duck Neck 🦆
- Liver Sausage 🍖

All of these treats help to improve your dog’s teeth as they have to chew these treats in order to eat them!
Due to them chewing, they can reach all areas of their teeth which helps to break the plaque off and naturally clean their teeth 🦷

All of these treats are a great healthy option to give your dog to keep up with their dental hygiene but also offer enrichment due to the task of breaking it down and eating it ✨

Meet the sweet and gorgeous Hollie! 🥰

Hollie is one of our own newly qualified groomers who graduated from our academy with flying colours! 🥳

Hollie grasped grooming almost instantly and has been amazing ever since!
She has a lovely nature with all of the dogs who she grooms, they all almost always end up falling asleep whilst she’s grooming them or smothering her in kisses! ✨

At the moment Hollie enjoys grooming cockerpoos and cavapoos the most, because she loves how sweet and fluffy they are! 😍

Hollie has fit right in with all of the team and is a true asset to dog grooming! 🐶
She always takes extra care and love and always makes sure that your pooch is coming out looking their best! 👑

It’s a busy day today in our training academy with the gorgeous Pomeranians, Teddy & Bethal 🐶✨

Our students, Charlotte and Molly, have been really exited to carry out their grooms on Teddy and Bethal today due to the fact that they are Pomeranians and it can be quite a complex groom to carry out! 🐾

Pomeranians have double coats so when grooming they are essentially done in two stages. The undercoat needs de-shedding and then the top coat will need sc******ng and tidying up!✨

Due to their double coat, they are really good and beneficial to work with when you’re learning, due to the complexity of the coat and how to groom it!

Pomeranian nature is generally quite laid back so they’re good dogs to train on and always very cute to cuddle! 🐶

Molli our amazing teacher specialises in Pomeranians therefore she is the ultimate teacher to learn how to groom this specific type of coat and breed using just scissors ✂️

Well done to our amazing student, Leah for graduating with flying colours in her iPet Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Dog Grooming! 🎓🐶✨

She has completed the 5 day course where she carried out 2 grooms a day of different coats and breeds 🐶

Leah now has a basic understanding of dog grooming principles and can now continue to learning or work in the Dog Grooming Industry! 🙌

Leah has been an absolute delight to teach, always getting stuck in and listening to everything Molli was explaining and teaching and putting it into practise straight away!
She’ll be an asset in the dog grooming industry! 🐾

The final two pictures, after popular demand, are of slicker brushes that you can buy to help maintain your dogs groom in between coming to Mrs B’s!
This will help to minimise matts in your dogs fur which will ensure that you can always have to desired cut and length you want your pooch to go when bringing them in for a groom!
Having less matts will also keep your dog happy and comfortable always! ✂️
You are always more than welcome to talk to your groomer about which brush would be best and the correct way to use them!
