❤️‍🩹URGENT APPEAL❤️‍🩹

SATURDAY (27th July) UPDATE: she’s had a transfusion overnight with dog blood, which has raised her red blood cell count to a better level. The hospital have said she was brighter this morning and a little happier which is good news. We are by no means out of the woods yet though.

It’s now a case of waiting to see if her body starts to regenerate its own red blood cells. If not and her red blood cell level drops again, it’s likely that she’d need a transfusion with cat blood.

So it’s a bit of a waiting game now. We are keeping everything crossed that her body responds.

If her red blood count has stayed up this evening, they’ll move to focus on the underlying cause. In the event it’s dropped, we’ll be looking to arrange a second transfusion.
Thanks to FB and the kindness of people reading this, we now have four cats who might be able to donate, all dependant on them being a blood type match and fit and able to. Her owners want to express their thanks to everyone for sharing and caring. I will of course keep you updated over the next few days xx

UPDATE: We’ve just had a message from the vets to say that she’s deteriorated and so we’re now looking for donors tonight. It would involve bringing the cat to the vets tonight. They would have a blood test whilst conscious (if possible) to check for a match. And providing they were a match and able to give a donation, they’d wait until it was safe to sedate before taking a donation.

For anyone who is happy to help but unable to travel, her owners are happy to collect and provide transport for cat and owner.

ORIGINAL POST (FRIDAY 26TH JULY) Little Miss Fuzzyface is very unwell and needs our help urgently.

Today she’s been diagnosed with severe anaemia and has been transferred to the out of hours ICU. They’re administering fluids and steroids but have advised that she will likely need a blood transfusion tonight.

We have learnt today that dog blood is readily available. However, cat blood isn’t. She can have a dog blood transfusion but there’s a risk that she either doesn’t accept it, or digests the blood within a few days because her body will recognise it as foreign.

We are, therefore, looking for cat blood donors who may be able to give a blood donation in the next few days, in the event she needs one. It would likely involve the other cat being sedated so its blood type could be tested and if a match, a donation taken. The donor cat would need to weigh over 4kg and be between the age of 1-8 years old.

I don’t even know where to start with this one… I’m absolutely heartbroken that this little Lady has crossed that rainbow bridge yesterday 🌈
She was an older lady and had a few health problems but trooped on regardless for so long until her little body couldn’t take it anymore.
She absolutely loved her walks (unless it was raining and then she looked as miserable as the weather), was part of the ‘Awesome Foursome’ and just the sweetest little soul.
I know her family are heartbroken and her little brother is missing her so much 😥
I feel so honoured to have been trusted to be her dog walker and spend so much time with her and I’m so glad we got to have one last walk in the sun together.

I’m almost a month late posting this as I’ve just been sooooooo busy looking after all my buddies! 4th June marked my 5th Anniversary with Safe Hands and what a 5 years it’s been! From Bearded Dragon’s and Parrots to Doberman’s and South African Mastiff’s and everything in between! There’s been ups and downs, as there is for any business, but I’m still here and going strong and have more customers than ever before! Our Story

My name is Holly and animals are truly my passion in life. Caring for any animal, from dogs to degus or cats to cockatoos, is what I enjoy most. I have owned and cared for many pets over the years and I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet will get just as much love and attention as they would from you while you are not around.

If working full-time is making it difficult to fit in all the walks your dog would like, illness or injury mean you need some short term help or if you are just not able to take your dog with you for that day away, I can provide a reliable and trustworthy dog walking service.

Puppies and kittens need a lot of attention and care in the first months of their lives, I can help here too by popping round while you are at work to check your little ones, clean up any accidents, give cuddles and play – I can also continue any training you are undertaking with your pet to help ensure consistency and improve your pets rate of learning. Perhaps you are looking to take a hard earned holiday and would prefer to leave your pets in the comfort of their own home. Our pet sitting service will ensure your pets are fed, watered, cuddled and played with in line with your wishes, I also clean out litter trays and cages as required.If you are struggling to get your pet to the vet for their appointment I can help by providing a pet taxi service from door to door, I will accompany your pet to their appointment and return them safely home afterwards.
