🌟 **EQUINE HOME APPEAL** 🌟

🗣️ Attention all equestrians with track systems or grass-free facilities! 📢

We're often seeking special homes equipped for grass-free or very restricted grazing. Some of our residents on-site have specific health and dietary requirements. These ponies thrive much better in a low grass environment.🐴

While they're safe with us on site, these rescued ponies often find it difficult to fit into traditional management and end up staying with us long-term.

If you or someone you know can provide the perfect sanctuary, you'll be making an incredible difference in a pony's life. 💖

With the power of social media, we hope to find these ponies a grass-free environment where they can flourish, making space for us to help another pony in need.

If you're interested or have any questions, please message us, and don't forget to share this post! 💫

Sunny moved to Hope Pastures in late in 2022. He has been castrated and is now ready to find a loving, long term loan home. He is a very sweet youngster who takes everything in his stride.

Sunny is good to handle, catch, lead, load, travel, tie up, groom and have his hooves picked out. As with a lot of young horses he has his 'baby moments' so requires a home experienced with youngsters to further his education.

Sunny is looking for a home able to be flexible to his needs as he gets older. We like all our ponies in loan homes to be kept as active as possible with walks out, pony agility and enrichment opportunities. It is possible Sunny could be trained to be ridden in a few years once he is fully grown.

Sunny is a very sociable pony and gets on well with mares, geldings and mixed herds. He is kept on normal pasture at the moment but as he grows, like most native types, it is likely he will require more restricted grazing. He is ready to meet his new family who can help him as he learns and grows.

Sucessfully Re-Homed

Putwell Romana: Primrose

Primrose is a grey, Welsh Section A mare looking for a foster or loan home anywhere in the Yorkshire area. She is 13 years old and 11.2 hh.
Primrose is available as a companion pony who would like to be kept active. Primrose can take a little while to settle but is well-behaved once she does.

Primrose would be an excellent project pony for someone willing to bring her on. She is generally good to handle. She has been long reined, lunged, and is cooperative when wearing tack. She hasn’t done much backing or riding work for some time but is intelligent and quick to learn. With good guidance, she could make a brilliant lead pony.

Primrose is passported and microchipped. She is up to date with vaccinations, farrier visits, dentistry, worming and vet checks. Like most native types, Primrose requires regular, restricted grazing.

If you have any questions or feel you can offer Primrose the home she deserves, then contact us at Hope Pastures.

How it works…

Re-Homed!
Tj and Jimmy are looking for a permanent home (Ideally together)

Tj is a 4 year old, 12.2hh Cob gelding who is ready to start his training for the future.

Jimmy is an elderly Miniature Shetland gelding who is a companion to TJ at the moment, they would love a home together but equally can be separated for the right homes.

TJ: A friendly and cheeky young pony who is ready for his next adventure in his life. TJ is prone to weight gain and laminitis, and so will need an experienced home where his weight loss and fitness journey can continue.
He has been ridden in the past but he was far too young so will need to gradually re-start from the beginning using positive and kind methods.
TJ is good for the vet and farrier, to load and travel, for the dentist and to handle in general.
He would benefit from walks out in-hand, pony agility and groundwork whilst he builds up strength and fitness, a great way to create a bond with his new family.

Jimmy is just coming up to weight after being underweight on arrival. He was gelded only a few weeks ago but has healed up well. He was used as a breeding stallion most of his life so can get a bit over excited around mares, this should settle with time but ideally he needs a home where there are varied turnout options for gradual introductions and settling in with other ponies.

Jimmy needs regular dental care for the next 12 months whilst his molars are re-balanced and should then need the dentist every six months.

He would also benefit from walking out and some gentle in-hand exercises.
Jimmy has dwarfism which affects his hind legs. This doesn’t affect his daily life or require medication but he benefits from joint supplements and should be kept in mind when exercising.

Both ponies are tested free of Strangles, vaccinated, microchipped, passported and up to date with farrier, dentist and worming.

Hi, I’m Hope Pastures Dee-Dee.
I was born on site at Hope Pastures and after the best start with my foster home I’m now ready to look for a placement where I can continue my education and grow!
Diva (Dee-dee) is 1 year and 3 months old filly, we think she will reach around 12hh at her adult height. She is patiently waiting for someone who is able to give her the time and training she deserves. She is so inquisitive and loves to learn new things.
She has had a great start covering all basic training to include grooming, hooves picked out, leading, work with traffic, socialising with other ponies, being tied up and she has started some clicker training.
We would love a placement for her with other ponies of a similar height and age who will interact with her. She is currently stabled on an evening and enjoys this time although she would live out and come in during the day if that routine was best for her new home (she does love a break and a snooze!)
With being a native type normal restricted grazing from overly lush/green pastures would be best.
Passport and Microchipped ✅
Strangles tested negative ✅
Vaccinated for Flu and Tetanus ✅
Up to date with the dentist, deworming and farrier ✅
If you feel like you can offer Diva or a pony like her a home please get in touch with us at [email protected] 🐴

Now Re-Homed!
Tasman is searching for her perfect home!

Tasman is a 12hh, 5yo mare available for loan. She’s a fun and intelligent pony who make a great family member with the right training.

Tasman likes in-hand activities and has a big jump on her. She’s only five years old, so the perfect age to begin groundwork and have fun with.

She’s been walked out in traffic from a young age and been exposed to streets and things outside of the field.

She’s a sensitive pony who is quite energetic and can become anxious at times but is improving all of the time. She mixes well within our small herd of mares, but she does like to be the boss, especially around food.

She can be prone to laminitis, so a home with a track system or restricted grazing is a must.

She makes us smile daily with her antics; she likes water and is often seen snorkelling in the water trough! She’s such a character.

Successfully re-homed!
Our special girl Spice is still waiting patiently for her forever home! 🐴🏡🤞

Overview:
Spice is a 13.2, Welsh Section B, Chestnut, Mare. She would like a stable to come into for winter but could live out through the summer months with a field shelter. She mixes with both mares, geldings and a mixed herd. Spice can be nervous at times so an experienced and kind home is needed. Spice is available for loan subject to a routine home check.

More information:
Spice is looking for a new home as a companion, she enjoys her field companions so a home with more than one pony would be ideal for her. When she first came to us she had bad laminitis but has recovered very well and can now be manages with normal restrictions in place as most native types require.

Spice can be a sensitive soul at times so needs someone kind and understanding who is willing to build a bond with her. She would suit a one to one environment with someone who can offer her lots of attention, she may even be suitable for some in hand walks and groundwork activities.

Spice has done some clicker training in the past and responds well to this. She can be nervous for the vet but manages well with patience, she is well behaved for our farrier she has had remedial farriery in the past but is now back to normal front shoes. She has mixed with mares and geldings previously often being at the bottom of the herd. Spice does have Cushings so is on Prascend twice a day, she has annual ACTH tests and this seems under control. She is fed a balancer year round with Fibre-Beet and Linseed. She will come with a winter rug, fly mask and fly rug.

✅ Passport and Microchipped

✅ Strangles tested negative

✅ Vaccinated for Flu and Tetanus

✅ Physio checked

✅ Up to date with the dentist, deworming and farrier

Spice would be a rewarding pony to take on and she deserves the very best. There must be someone out there willing to give her the love she deserves 🥰

If you think you can offer Spice a loving home we would love to hear from you!
