Another snow ❄️ day and another day rescheduled to another date.
This winter has been really tough so far being self employed is difficult when you can't work to earn a living.
I know saddle checks are essential for your horses but safety comes first both for myself travelling to you and riding on icy yards and frozen arenas is lethal for both horse and rider.
Brighter days have to be coming but if we are disrupted with the weather just bear with me getting you back in again as I seem to be pushing back and back around the weather. I will get to you as soon as safety allows.

Something to keep an eye on during this cold snap when water troughs and stable drinkers are freezing.....

Water remains as important for your horse in cold weather as it is in the summer. As a matter of fact, decreased water consumption in the winter is thought to be the primary inducing factor for impaction colic — although there are other predisposing factors such as poor hay quality, lack of exercise, internal parasites and dental problems.

Impaction colic is essentially constipation and most often includes the accumulation of hard, dry f***l material in the colon. The usual signs of impending impaction colic are depression, a decreased appetite, and decreased production and dryness of manure.

Studies demonstrate that you can increase your horse's winter water consumption if you provide access to heated water, but ONLY if that is the only source of water available. As always, if you have any questions about preventing colic in your horse, your equine veterinarian remains your best source of information!

I was so happy to be back out working yesterday after the adverse weather before Xmas meant finishing early for the holidays.

But yet more bad weather 😩 to disrupt things again! Snow and ice this time.

I do need to be able to see you ridden and ideally in an ice and snow free arena. I will be in touch as we move through the next few days and rebook as needed.

Sunnier, brighter days are coming hang in there ✨️

Happy New Year everyone I hope you have all had a lovely Xmas break. I'll be catching up on messages, bookings etc first thing tomorrow and will be back out on the road Friday.
🤞 I'm praying for no more disruption from extreme weather as we move into January.

Well what a year 2024 🎉 has been!

The past few weeks have been challenging to say the least thanks to mother nature we've had it all ❄️🌧🌬

But I am thankful that overall it's been the busiest year yet in 8 years of owning my small business.
I want to thank each and everyone of you for all your support throughout the year ❤️

To all the equine professionals who work alongside me. I would like to take this chance to say a massive thank you as teamwork is essential when it comes to your horses.

2025 will see me focusing more on my Pro Power Saddle ranges and accessories as so many customers have loved my saddles this year 😍

One last thank you to Sam Jarvis Equine Coaching sponsored rider for Pro Power Saddles. I will continue to be a BE supporter and sponsor Sam again this year. Hoping for a good season ahead. But Sam has been so supportive too this year xx

Well Storm Darragh you have tried your best to disrupt the days plans but I managed to get 4 saddle checks done today before accepting it was getting worse and had to reschedule the last couple.
As I'm self employed if I don't work I don't get paid. I will always endeavour to continue as planned, however safety needs to come first. This is both for me to be travelling and ultimately for you to be able to ride your horse for the fitting.
Here's hoping the weather starts to be kinder to us all. Horses in winter is always tough but this winter seems to have started with a bang!

❄️❄️❄️ICE & SNOW❄️❄️❄️

Well what a week we have had weather wise!! It has caused major disruption as yards are slippy with ice and arena's frozen solid. Many appointments have needed to be rescheduled as just not possible to do the ridden assessment.

I also appreciate I had to take a few days off last week after an incident with a client's horse resulted in a leg injury. I thank you for your patience.

And now Storm Bert❄️🌬🌧
There has been significant snow fall this morning and we are due torrential rain and gale force winds later. I've had to make a decision to reschedule today. Ultimately safety is paramount to everyone. Trying to ride on ice, gale force winds and torrential rain is less than ideal and it needs to be safe for everyone.

INDOOR ARENA??
I am going to look at the options to do indoor arena clinics. The appointments least affected this week do have indoor facilities. I'm open to ideas on venues and feedback on what you all think to this idea 💡

❄️❄️❄️Snow & Ice ❄️❄️❄️

Looks like we will get some snow overnight. I will assess first thing in the morning and see what the weather brings. It needs to be safe to travel and to undertake your saddle check, bearing in mind I need to see you ridden.

After having to reschedule appointments last week due to injury I will endeavour to get you all sorted as soon as I can.

Just bear with me its appreciated but everything seems to be against me at the moment xx

With Christmas just around the corner and the weather change to 🥶 brrrr. If anyone is needing anything from Lemeiux from woolly hats to rugs or Christmas presents drop me a line. I have an order going in shortly. Stock levels are pretty good on most items at the moment and the nearer we get to Christmas they may not be available. Best to plan ahead 👍

Just to say a massive thank you to everyone I had booked in yesterday afternoon and today for your understanding and patience.
I sustained an injury to my right leg and needed a trip to get checked, all OK just badly bruised but I've needed to reschedule appointments today to give me chance to rest up.

It's unfortunately a hazard of the job and just one of those things. I will be back to it quickly and I promise I will get to everyone I've had to reschedule as soon as possible xx

I can't believe writing this how quick has this year flown!
We are well into Autumn with Christmas fast approaching.
It's still fairly busy for appointments so please plan ahead for me.
The Diary for 2025 is now open with lots of bookings already planned.

Hello everyone, it's really busy at the moment far busier than anticipated for the time of year!
At the moment please be aware there is a wait on appointments and the more you can plan ahead the better to avoid disappointment when I just can't get you in when needed.

Appointments during the week I have nothing available until 14th November onwards.

SATURDAY Availability before Xmas:
30th Nov Addingham/Ilkley area
7th December - AM available.
21st December AM available.

A reminder too as Nov to Feb I won't be working evenings due to daylight issues but also family commitments. Please ensure you plan ahead as only one of me and althought I work Saturdays they book up well ahead x

Some brilliant feedback from Rachel.

"Just a quick message to say we are thrilled with the saddle. It's perfect. We did 10 mile round Bramham Park on Sunday. No slipping and comfort the whole way round. Thank you so much again ###"

This was a saddle I originally had made for another pony that unfortunately was no longer needed.
Step forward Rona the pony with the most awkward back shape, no whithers and itsy bitsy shoulders. A quick tweak and it fits both pony and rider brilliantly and more importantly it stays put where other saddles have slid forward.

Somethings are meant to be. Thanks for the feedback Rachel and a lovely photo of Rona and Grace xx
