What are Novel Proteins, and how do our dogs benefit? 🐐🍃

Often found in hypoallergenic dog foods and natural treats, novel proteins are proteins that are not ordinarily found in over-the-counter, common commercial dog foods 🐾

Dogs often develop food allergies when they consume the same type of protein for a long time. Incorporating varied protein sources into your dog’s diet is a proven method of managing allergy and intolerance development, particularly uncomfortable, itchy skin 🐶

If your dogs are raw fed, make sure you are alternating between at least 3 different proteins, as opposed to just one. If you feed your dog kibble or wet food, pick up a new 'flavour' on your next visit to the shops, making sure to vary between the different varieties that the brand offers 🥩

If your dog is showing signs of allergies and feeding other common proteins hasn't helped, try feeding Novel Proteins instead! The likelihood of your dog being allergic to say, Ostrich or Rabbit, is pretty low, since they have never been a part of your dogs staple diet 🐐🌾

Novel Proteins are also much less likely to be mass-produced and battery farmed; meaning that the meat is likely to be of much higher quality - cleaner, leaner and free from chemicals 🚜
