New Recipe! 👉 Introducing Organic Chicken & Tripe

Just like buses and all that, fresh off the back of last week’s Senior based excitement we have another new thing to share with you.

We’ve shown our original range some love and put together a new recipe that we’re pretty sure is going to be a huge hit with you guys.

A blend of high-welfare organic British chicken and beef tripe and offal (full details of the website)

We don’t stuff tripe into every recipe whilst you’re not looking like some do (to bring the cost down), but in moderation it has it’s place in a healthy raw diet;

Green tripe contains natural probiotics, digestive enzymes, and nutrients that support gut health. Tripe isn’t a rich meat but dogs seem to find it irresistible and really palatable making it ideal for picky eaters or sensitive stomachs.

Oh, and with an RRP of 2.65 this is our lowest priced recipe. 👀

New Recipe! 👉 Introducing Forage Senior 🐕

Naturaw founder and (reluctant) senior Ada would like to introduce you to Forage Senior: Grass Fed Beef - Carefully tailored for older dogs, without compromising on the quality you’d expect from the rest of our range.

We’ve crafted it with slightly lower bone content to help the slower digestion many seniors experience; the recipe includes organic chicken, and lamb trachea for natural joint support (glucosamine and chondroitin), some extra Organic broccoli and kale for antioxidants, and Lion’s Mane mushroom to help with brain and nerve health.

Our Lions Mane is a potent 5:1 extract with hericenones, erinacines, and beta-glucans to help keep older dogs sharp, focused, and thriving.

Forage, thoughtfully adapted for ageing dogs who need a little extra support.

🐾 The truth, and nothing but the truth

aka ‘why being honest sometimes sucks’

At Naturaw, we do this thing called telling the truth. It’s wild, we know and not very in keeping with industry norms 🤷‍♂️

When it comes to our food, we don’t just slap together some numbers from an internet spreadsheet and call it a day

Nope. We take every single ingredient that goes into our raw food and have it nutritionally analysed.

In an actual lab. By actual scientists. With coats and everything 🥼🔬

Here’s the even crazier thing, we re-test it and update the figures regularly.

It’s expensive, time-consuming and - to be perfectly honest - a little bit soul destroying when we see our honesty being used against us.

You see, most of our lovely competitors figures never change. They use standard software that pulls generic “stock values” for ingredients.

Think: chicken thigh = x% fat.

So when you (or your customer) compares one product label to another and sees Naturaw with slightly higher fat content, it’s very easy to assume ours is, well… fattier.

But it’s not. It’s just that we’re being accurate, and they’re being… creative.

We get it. It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating for you, and it’s frustrating for us - especially when someone emails in to tell us we’re “too high in fat” and “why can’t you be more like Brand X?” (who haven’t actually tested a single ingredient since 2011 and think ‘nutritional analysis’ is a new Netflix series)

But here’s the thing: we’ll keep doing it anyway.

NEW RECIPE! 🎉 🐾

This one was your idea.

Quite a few of you have got in touch over the past few months and said that as much as you loved our food, some adult dogs were smugly watching on surrounded by their wide range of meal options whilst puppies had only 1 choice on the menu.

Even though that choice is an exquisite one, we agree.

Introducing our second Forage recipe for puppies!

We’ve crafted this one from High welfare free range British turkey, combined with grass fed British lamb and our beautiful Forage blend.

We’re talking Organic veg, fruit, free range British eggs and hand harvested seaweed from Scotland to name but a few of the exquisite functional ingredients (full breakdown below)

It’s also in completely compostable, plastic free packaging as per everything else we make.

Now, they just need to learn to read menus…

Double Bank Holiday - Disruption Incoming

It’s coming, despite the fact we’re sure Christmas was only a few weeks ago it’s actually Easter next weekend.

This is great if you are a rabbit or partial to an excessive amount of Chocolate, but for rawvolutionaries like you lot the double bank holiday can cause a few issues in the freezer department.

To avoid delays and beat the anticipated deluge of orders next week will bring - we strongly advise you to order as soon as possible.

Orders placed after 2pm Wednesday 16th April - Despatched FROM Tuesday 22nd for delivery FROM Wednesday 23rd.

There will be no deliveries Friday 18th - Tuesday 22nd April.

We anticipate a significant volume of orders to send out on the Tuesday afterwards - there will be a backlog that takes a few days to clear, if you need an order before later that week then you need to get your order in promptly.

LISTEN UP SUBSCRIPTION HOLDERS

Unfortunately even our beloved subscription holders are susceptible to the egg based chaos. Log in and check your account area because if your next renewal falls over the affected dates it will take longer to get to you than usual.

Bring the date forward to this coming monday at the latest to get your next box before Good Friday.

Made by us, obviously*

*You would think this would go without saying but unfortunately not all is as it seems. 👀

Just like the various brands of let’s say, tea bags sold in the supermarket are made in the same few factories, an increasing number of raw dog food brands don’t actually make their own food.

It’s made in a factory hundreds of miles away along with several other brands and a different label is put on it.

All our food is made in our own kitchen (about 40 metres from where i’m sat writing this), so we can control the whole process from composing the precise recipe and selecting the ingredients and suppliers, to mixing, mincing and putting it in its packaging.

For example we know precisely what cut of beef went into the Surf & Turf being produced in our kitchen today, where it came from and when it arrived, what temperature it was, who packed it and how they take their tea (milky but strong for me).

We completely control the hygiene standards throughout the entire process, ensure our staff training is up to scratch and our quality assurance checks and standards are maintained flawlessly.

The food being completely our own is the only way we’d feel comfortable putting our name to it.

We believe in doing things the right way - even if it’s not the easiest - only then can we ensure our food sets new standards for what we’d want for our own pets.

Needless to say, it’s Yorkshire Tea all the way here!

A super low fat treat that’s a great option for those watching their waistline!

Made with love in Yorkshire, just gently dried and put in a bag. It sounds pretty easy really, but you would be surprised how many others manage to make a right ol’ dogs dinner of it by using unethically sourced meat from half way around the world, or adding a load of processed nonsense our beloved dogs shouldn‘t be consuming.

🌱 Oh, and just chuck our clever little bags in the compost when the contents have been devoured. We don’t believe in trashing the planet with plastic any more than we do feeding our dogs unhealthy, artificial rubbish.

Lip smacking soft deli sausage slices of British Venison with beautiful sustainably hand harvested organic seaweed from the north coat of Scotland - Yep, it’s the same seaweed we use in our Forage range!

Seaweed is a wonderful natural source of calcium, potassium and magnesium along with iodine, manganese and zinc.

Mayday, Mayday, Mayday 📢

Just when we’d all calmed down from the sheer madness of the double bank holiday for Easter weekend, another one has reared its head over the parapet of this coming weekend.

It’s the May Day bank holiday on Monday 6th May.

Ok, so this time it’s just one day, but for those of you who like to live life on the edge and run your freezer right down to the last pack between deliveries - it might be the difference between bank holiday bliss and your dog having to eat something weird from the s*permarket.

To be clear, any orders received after 2pm this Thursday (2nd May) will not be received until the following Wednesday at the earliest.

Order now to beat the rush and get your order this week. 
Also this applies to subscription holders too - if your sub falls over the long weekend and you need it before next Wednesday then make sure you log into your account and bring the date forward ASAP so that we can get your food out and keep your freezer stocked up.
