Look how well Cybil is doing on her lead walking!!! Amazing progress 🙌
We’ve noticed in foster that Cybil struggles with an off switch and can get quite vocal when she’d like attention so we’re also working on letting her know doing nothing can be quite rewarding!!
As we’ve mentioned before Cybil can resource guard if she finds food that isn’t hers (from plates, bins, etc). While this can be easily managed it is something potential adopters would need to be willing to work with.
Cybil is seven and was previously in a busier household with young children - she really struggled with this so we are looking for a calmer home with adults.
Dogs - maybe if they all got on!
Cats - she’s lived happily with cats in the past
Children - no thank you
If you’re interested in giving Cybil her forever home please complete and adoption form: www.moorlandsdogrescue.com/adoptions and give as much detail as you possibly can. Please note that we can't always reply to everybody who applies because we are very low on volunteer numbers at the moment, but will try our best to get in contact. You should receive an automated email after you've applied which explains what happens next and acknowledges receipt of your application. If you don't get this email then your applications hasn't registered with us.
The definition of happiness, is our old man Bramble greeting his foster parents when they get home ❤️
Our old man Bramble is just a pup in his dreams. We wonder what he was chasing…🐇
Some superstar lead walking from our gorgeous girl Lulu ❤️❤️❤️
Lulu’s foster carers have given her an A+ on her house manners!! Such a lovely girl to have around the home and is now regularly being left for short periods with no issues 🥰
As a reminder Lulu could live with a family with older children but needs to be only dog in the home and probably best with no cats.
Could you be Lulu’s forever humans…?
We're sorry that we've been a little quiet recently. We don't have any paid members of staff and everybody at Moorlands Dog Rescue is a volunteer, having to balance our rescue work around our every day lives, health, careers, families and of course, our own dogs. We've continued to care for the dogs with Moorlands Dog Rescue in the background, but recently all of our team members' lives have been adversely affected in a variety of different ways, so it's depleted our resources a little. We're getting to a place where the path seems a little more smooth, so thought we'd send a little update on one of the dogs in our care, lovely Connie.
You may recall that Connie the Collie was dumped locally, and after assessment with us in her foster home, it was discovered that she had diabetes that was completely out of control. She's reached a place where her blood sugars are stable now, but has been suffering a little bit with some arthritis in her back leg. After receiving treatment, she's feeling much better. We can't believe she hasn't already found a home because she is a true treasure, and she's got just the most wonderful, beautiful soul. She would make an amazing new friend for somebody/people. She's going to be assessed around cats on Thursday, which we hope might open up a few more potential homes to her. If you are interested in adopting Connie, please submit a form for her on our website. If you're not, then please tag people who might be in the comments and share this post. Or, just simply enjoy a video of Connie opening her 2021 Christmas present in her foster home <3.
To recap, here's a little more about Connie. She is a gorgeous, loving and funny girl who has diabetes which is stable, but requires 2 insulin injections twice a day. She handles this impeccably well and doesn't even flinch. The cost of the insulin is £60 per month, which is of course an ongoing financial commitment for her new family. The medication for the arthritis in her back leg costs aroun

Lina is a wonderful 2 year old crossbreed who is going to make somebody or some people very, very happy. LINA IS:
⭐Settled and happy in a home environment. She loves her home comforts and is a really good girl in the house. She knows a 'bed' command, which is really useful in the home.
⭐A great traveller. She loves the car and doesn't get sick, or feel stressed. She loves adventures and recently went on a little holiday, which she loved.
⭐Clever and eager to learn. Lina learns new things all of the time. Some commands she knows are: sit, down, leave it, touch, find it.
⭐Affectionate, loving and loyal. She bonds quickly with people and loves nothing more than a snuggle.
⭐Happy to be left alone for short periods.
⭐Approachable and friendly with many different people including strangers she meets out and about.
⭐Active, very healthy and energetic with a HUGE, FUN personality.
⭐NOT aggressive around food or people in general. She has never exhibited any signs of resource guarding during her time with us.
Lina is reactive to other dogs on the lead, but has been following a training plan whilst with us in the rescue and the lead reactivity is now very manageable with her favourite hot dog sausages. She can happily parallel walk with other dogs after gradual introductions, as you can see in the video. She cannot live with other dogs or animals. Purely due to her size and bouncy nature, she wouldn't be able to live with children under the age of 10.
