Harley went home yesterday. His super cheeky personality will be missed.
Below is just a quick video of what he was like when he arrived compared to when he left.
He was slightly nappy/backwards at first, hard against the hand in the contact and struggled to keep his canter.
He left us going forwards with a soft mouth, learning to carry himself in an outline and cantering laps of the arena 🥰
🌹Rose🌹
17hh 5yr ID mare.
Rose is our fun, do everything on, chuck anyone on horse. We bought her 2 years ago as an unbroken youngster, broke her as a 3yr then turned her away for the winter. Brought her back into work spring 23 as a 4yr and done plenty with her since then.
⭐A tonne of hacking
⭐Showjumping up to 80cm at a show, up to 1m at home
⭐Dressage
⭐1 x 80cm ODE (came 5th)
⭐Pleasure rides
⭐Film work
Not for a complete novice due to her age, she is a responsive but safe ride.
She has 5 small, flat, round sarcoids not in a tack area and a splint on her left fore that she threw as a 2yr (pictured).
Based North Yorkshire
Low teens
Our best little helper making sure we clean every little part of Rain. 🥰
Ferdy is going home today. After being here for 9 weeks he is now a fully fledged ridden horse getting his graduation bath 😂
A great day taking Ferdy out for an adventure.
We have shown him all of our hacking at home which is limited to roads so as we are concentrating on improving his hacking we boxed him up and found some open fields! He was an absolute angel. We think his owner is going to have the best time when he goes home.
We have a name!
Everyone, meet Spider.
Nelly his dam is only 15.2hh and has somehow produced this giant colt with the longest legs ever!! 🤣🥰
We are into our final week of breaking Ferdy. He is confidently walking, trotting and cantering under saddle 🥰 here's a little video of all his firsts. Watch this space for videos of how good he is now 😁🐎
Wow what a day. Rose took on her first ever ODE and smashed it. We would have been happy to get round without any drama. Rose decided to pull it out the bag by strutting her stuff in the dressage for a cracking 31. To finish the day coming 6th with 1 time fault on the XC we certainly can't complain. There isn't anything this mare cannot do 🥰
We have been so bad posting Ferdy updates. But here's a snapshot of what he's been up to.
He's been with us 2 weeks now. In that time we have done lots of ground work, got him used to the contact, introduced lunging and long lining and laid over him. This week he'll do lots of long lining seeing the outside world making sure he'll be a very independent individual 🥰
Yesterday was a bit different. Rose and Nick made their film debut 🤣 I cannot fault Rose, it was a very long day with loads of takes. Children running everywhere, camera equipment, sound booms, tents, brollies, fire, lights. You name it she coped with it! We do try to make them as bombproof as we can 🤣We will let you know when the film is out! 😁
A lovely ride out on holiday livery Elvis accompanied by Rose our rising 5yr. We think hacking is so beneficial for our young horses 🐎
Elvis arrived with us last night on holiday livery till the new year. His owner wants him riding 3 times a week to keep him ticking over. Here he is practicing his long and low work.
How soppy is resident mare April 🥰🐴
Today we delivered Buffy to her perfect new home with her new owner Laura. She leaves a huge hole in our hearts but we know Laura is the perfect person for Buffy and we wish them all the best for their adventures together! 🥰
Buffy is the best for just hopping on and going for a ride. She can have time off and you can just get on and go. We just went for a mooch on our own round a big 20 acre field. Not many horses are this good 🥰
Who else's 4yr is this chill at a show 🤣🥰 #buffyis
Buffy coming home with a ribbon (4th). Super proud of this little mare, new venue with really scary jumps and she didn't bat an eye lid! 🥰
Buffy jumping a nice clear round at a show today. She is such a chilla mare, doesn't bother about the kids bombing round on their ponies or the fact she's never been in the outdoor arena at Richmond. She really does look after her rider. 🥰
Yesterday we waved goodbye to Clover. She has been with us for 5 weeks and in that time we have perfected her groundwork and have her walk, trot and cantering under saddle. She is only just broken and it's now up to her owners to ride her away. She has been a real pleasure to have on the yard and we will miss having her 😊 We wish her owners the best and let the fun begin! 🥰
Over the last couple days we have been super busy. Holiday livery grace has gone through her stroppy phase and is now working nicely. Breaking livery clover has been long lining great, we have practiced mounting from the block and a leg up and have laid over her. We have also been on holiday livery parsnip as her owner is coming back from the UAE for a week and would like to ride her.
