This morning a few of us gathered together for some scentwork training and tested out a new venue, which will be suitable for Foundation and Pre Entry trials next year.

We set some difficult hides and the dogs nailed it. 💪🐾

Last night we looked at Focus and Distractions in a workshop designed to take handlers through the concepts and skills needed.

One of the skills we talked through was a "stay", and to do this we used platforms to increase the dogs duration.

Last night, we braved the snow and managed to get to Evenjobb for a loose lead walking workshop.

The dogs learnt about the key foundations that need to be in place before they started walking, then the skills they need to progress, then finally putting it together with duration and distractions.

Homework is set, I hope to hear how they all get on during their winter training! Well done guys!!!

I spent a lovely morning managing and judging a Foundation Trial in Titley.

8 teams came and the atmosphere was fun and supportive, just like The National Nosework Association has come to create ❤️

(Carol promises to get me a better photo tomorrow, but for now here is Toby exhausted after a successful day!)

Congratulations to my Canine Foundations class who finished tonight, Reggie, Atticus, Luna and Moose (not pictured) were absolutely fantastic.

I really enjoyed watching their progress over the past 6 weeks!

New Canine Foundations Class dates start in February should be on the system in the next week. It feels like a long time away but if you're expecting a puppy, book in now to avoid disappointment!

On Saturday, I hosted Nikki Thorpe of Ace Tails and The National Nosework Association for a workshop all about trick hides. We looked at high hides, locked up hides, corners, thresholds and so much more.

It was such an enjoyable day with incredible knowledge shared and gained. Thank you to all who attended who made it so much fun.

On Wednesday 27th of November, I'm running a 1.5 hour workshop looking at building your dogs focus around distractions.

We'll cover why distractions are hard, what to do to build your dogs focus, motivation, reward strategies and the age old question of what to do when it goes wrong.

Suitable for all breeds and ages. Dogs need to be comfortable working in a group environment in a village hall.

£15, start at 5pm in Evenjobb Village Hall. Pre and post homework included. Please message me to book your slot or with any questions!

Huge congratulations to Caitlin Gp Mockler who went and won her first Foundation Trial with her dog Rex at the weekend.

Having spent months telling me he can't do it, Rex decided to put a paw up to this, and went and won. I'm so utterly proud of them both ❤️

It was a fabulous day of learning yesterday with Vay Coltrose of Custom Canine Training, who I hosted at the Puppy Plus training barn in Newtown for a deep dive into Cues and what they mean to us and our dogs.

The dogs all worked so well, with a mixture of group work and individual sessions.

Huge thank you to everyone who has come to this series in 2024, keep an eye out for dates for 2025!! 🐾🎉

A new puppy has arrived at my parents house 😍 A gorgeous sproker who traveled home today and is settling in well. I'm planning on doing some puppy training with him and videoing our sessions together. We did some sunset training last night at All Positive Dog Services - Behaviour & Training Centre for my dog club class, teaching "forward" ❤️🐾

Loads of fun last night teaching Dog Club, a class that looks at tricks, dogs sport foundations and advanced life skills, hosted at All Positive Dog Services - Behaviour & Training Centre Here is Poppy and Chloe nailing their go round and fly weaves ❤️🎉

My Wednesday Foundations Class are really coming on in leaps and bounds!! Each week we start with an exercise or game that increases the dogs focus and engagement with their handler ❤️ This is beautiful Remi, in the green bucket is a handful of food, we're teaching him that if he can ignore the distraction, his human has a better party available for him. Great job Remi 🐾

My current intermediate scent class are nailing it at the moment, I'm so proud of them! Here is tri-paw Peg practicing line ups on strange items and showing off her sit indication ❤️

Big dogs are brilliant ❤️ This is clever Scout and her human learning about connected walking, which is a process I teach in follow on class. I think they look fab together!

In my Follow On class (soon to be renamed!!!) we look at advanced skills which help improve everyday life with your dog. This is Froggy working on the first stage of "The Bucket Game" where he looks at the open bucket with treats in, then is rewarded for not rushing into the treats. We can use this skill to build up duration and eventually help with everyday things like putting on harnesses, grooming, handling and so much more. Well done Frog Dog 🐸
