Delilah
It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that we write this statement.
In the summer of 2018 we were blessed with the birth of our first Hyacinth Macaw chick. After 12 years of trying she was a miracle baby, the only hatchling from a small clutch of eggs. Itβs hard to over emphasize just how excited we all were at her arrival. She was named in the most heart-warming way, by a young imaginative girl in honour of another brave young heroine β Isla Tansy. We called her: Delilah.
She won the hearts of both visitors and staff alike, and so it is with very deep sorrow that we must announce that Delilah passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning, October 24th.
Just like the young girl she was named after, another truly bright spark in the world has left us far too soon. In a year that has already been extremely difficult, the rain keeps coming. Everyone here at Tropical Birdland is devastated beyond words. For anyone that got to know Delilah, she was a bundle of joy that epitomised her love for life in the purest form possible. She was our star of the parrot path. When lockdown was imposed, she did her best to keep our spirits high by helping us sweep, rake and any other activity she could impede! Along with her best buddy Neville, she never once allowed us to have an easy day. But in the same breath, she never once allowed us to have an unhappy one either.
Our Delilah. Our amazing Delilah. Youβll never know how truly inspirational you were. You made casual visitors become parrot lovers. You made photographs into works of art. And you made me look way cooler than I actually am. We are thoroughly, overwhelmingly and all-consumingly heart broken that youβre gone.
The parrot path will never be the same without you.
We will continue to run our βDelilahβs kids clubβ page in her honour.
Weβd also love to hear your stories of meeting Delilah. Please send us your photoβs, videos and any other recollection you have of her.

Neville Meets Easter Bunny
The parrots may not be allowed Chocolate Eggs, but Neville enjoyed playing with his Easter Bunny!
It has been a very odd Easter Weekend for us here.
Normally the Easter Weekend would be one of the busiest of the year!
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 outbreak and us being closed, not only are the birds missing having the public to play with, but we have also missed out on vital Spring income to look after our birds.
If you were originally planning on visiting us this weekend, and you still want to support the birds, please consider donating your entrance fee to help support our birds in this difficult time!
A normal adult entrance ticket is just Β£8.50 each, but if lot of people can donate that much, it will make a huge difference!
If you would like to donate, we have our Gofundme page here:

We thank you all for your support in these difficult times and we hope to see you all again when we re-open!

We are in need of Gardening Equipment!
As we out source most of our gardening we do not have the equipment needed.
Poor Symeon will be left to cut the rest of the car park with these scissors...
For just one kind donation you can provide Symeon with the equipment needed to get off his hands and knees π
We have updated our amazon wish list with some essential gardening equipment. All donations are greatly appreciated!
From all the staff here we thank you so much!
