A very big thank you to Nicky Litchfield, a very well known and respected artist, who very kindly offered to produce a Christmas card for us (see our post below dated 23 November), with all money raised from the sale of the cards being donated to us. We are delighted to say that ยฃ360 was raised, which will be a tremendous help to us. Many thanks as well to everyone that purchased the cards. ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ

A very big thank you to Oadby Vets For Pets for inviting us to take part in their Open Day on 18 January 2025. We had a great time chatting to members of the public and explaining what we do, and met up with people we have helped in the past. As well as selling quite a few items we had brought along and receiving donations from members of the public, we were delighted to receive ยฃ210 from Oadby Vets For Pets raised from their raffle. Once again, thank you so much and we, both two-legged and four-legged, really appreciate their support. ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿ˜บ

Nicky Litchfield is a very well known and respected artist and, after chatting with one of our volunteers a few months ago, she very kindly offered to produce a Christmas card for us. Any money raised from the sale of the cards will be donated to us. We sent a photo of Timothy, one of our foster cats, to Nicky and, hey presto, she worked her magic and produced "Timothy's First Snow". If anyone would like to purchase a box please follow the link below and it will take you to Nicky's website. Many thanks and we would be grateful if you could share as much as possible. ๐Ÿ˜บ

We are looking for a quiet home for the lovely Trixie. She is approximately 12 months old, black and white, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and came into us as a stray. Trixie was frightened of her own shadow at first and hid behind her bed, but once she got to know her foster mum (which didnโ€™t take long) she turned out to be playful, very affectionate and loves being fussed. Because of her quiet and gentle nature we are looking for a quiet home with no young children or dogs. We donโ€™t know what she is like living with other cats but she did not seem to be bothered by the resident cats in the garden where we collected her from.

If you think Trixie would fit into your family, or you want to find out more about her, please give us a call on 0116 288 2014 and have a chat. If you get the answerphone, please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back as soon as we can. Many thanks, and we would be grateful if you could share to help find Trixie her perfect home. ๐Ÿ˜บ

Jasmine is a young cat that came into our care several months ago with her newborn kittens after being found by a kind member of the public. The kittens have been rehomed and Jasmine is now ready to find her own new family. She is black and white, approximately 12 to 18 months old, has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Jasmine has a playful nature and loves a fuss. We obviously don't know what she has been used to in the past but she may get on with other cats and children if given the right introductions. If you think Jasmine would fit into your family, or you want to find out more about her, please give us a call on 0116 288 2014 and have a chat. If you get the answerphone, please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back as soon as we can. UPDATE ON GEORGIE
We had to make the heart breaking decision to have this lovely little cat put to sleep. We took her to the vet for a check up to see how her ear was doing but it was still as bad and, if anything, was worse than before despite specific antibiotics for the infection and a special cream being put on twice a day. Also, the growth in her throat had grown and after a long discussion with the vet, the decision was made to let her go. We will miss you Georgie but we are sure you will be having a great time, pain free, over the Rainbow Bridge. ๐Ÿ˜ฟ๐Ÿ˜ฟ๐ŸŒˆ

URGENT APPEAL TO FIND GEORGIE'S OWNER

Georgie came into us a month ago (see our earlier post dated 17 May) as a stray after being found in a hedge at Wistow in a very poor way. She has been receiving veterinary treatment for a severe ear problem since then but it is not working and it turns out that the growths in her ear are cancerous (not sun related). She also has a cancerous growth in her throat (which does not seem to be causing her problems at the moment) so there is a strong possibility that it has already spread. Despite the treatment, the ear growths are causing her great distress (constantly bleeding and infection that will not clear up) and without the buster collar she would be ripping her ear to shreds. If the treatment for her ear does not start to work, and with a very heavy heart, we have to decide whether it is the right thing to carry on the treatment and to consider if the kindest thing would be to put her to sleep as she can't carry on as she is. This, of course, will only be carried out following the advice of the vet.

So could we ask everyone to share this post as much as possible (particularly to the lost and found groups as we are having trouble sharing to them at the moment) as we would dearly love to find her owner. If you think this may be your cat, please give us a call on 0116 2882014. If you get the answerphone please leave a message with your name and contact number and we will call you back as soon as we can. Many thanks and please, no hate posts as we are trying to do the best and kindest thing for this lovely little cat. ๐Ÿ˜ฟ

We are looking for the owner of this lovely little cat who came into care a couple of weeks ago after she had been taken into a vets by a caring member of the public. She had been found in a hedge at Wistow garden centre and was in quite a bad way. She is currently under veterinary treatment but has been found to have serious ear problems. She is very friendly and has no microchip. If anyone thinks they know who she might belong to please give us a ring on 0116 288 2014. If you get the answerphone, please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as we can. Proof of ownership will be required. Could everyone please share as much as possible and we'd appreciate it if someone could share to the local lost and found sites as for some reason it's not letting us do it. Many thanks. ๐Ÿ˜บ
