Lovely few weeks teaching on a Sunday it’s lovely to see the riders progress that I’ve managed to move upon at least 5 children into more advanced groups 🙂
On Sunday I also taught Lissy on Zarina working over some poles a very lively pony this week

09/02/2023

The Saturday just gone I taught the lovely Lissy on Zarina, Zarina was a whizzy little thing so we worked on keeping her brain active and using the core muscles to really slow her paces down. Zarina became softer more flexible and into a better rhythm towards the end and even over poles. We even worked on some canter which got a bit too long but Lissy worked really hard to slow her down without pulling on her mouth and using her seat instead 🙂

Last weekend I taught the amazing Lissy on Zarina for the first time such an amazing pair. Working on relaxing into a contact without being to firm on the reins and using the core to help maintain the paces. So lovely to see you all again. It was nice to see lissy riding Z and see how she rides her when I’m used to her mum riding 🙂 was lovely to see love a good mum and daughter pony partnership

I’ve also had a weekend of teaching at a riding school covering for someone on the Saturday and then my normal Sunday shift. Teaching lots of variety of riders and horses. Last weekend we worked on some jumping with the more experienced riders this weekend some flat with them and jumping with the other riders 🙂 it’s so nice to see such a change in all riders in their abilities.

Plenty of weekends out teaching group lessons with a variety of riders This weekend we worked on leg yield starting off in walk then trot followed by getting a canter transition when they reach the outer track. All riders rode really well and the horses really showed some lovely movements.

Lovely day teaching today a few shorter sessions going down the lane and back with some lead rein riders and a couple of schooling lessons working on shallow loops and 10-15m circles. I believe the riders and horse took a lot from the sessions and they all worked really hard and well 🙂

I do love my teaching, I try my very best to give my best I try to be informative, knowledgeable, calm but firm, confidence giving and most of all helpful to the horses and the riders.
Tuesday I taught again lots of lessons lots of different riders horses and abilities. Mainly working on getting a nice position nice soft hands but firm when the ponies are being cheeky along with some simple school movements like circles, serpentine and shallow loops with transitions.
I’ll be there teaching my lessons on Saturday which I love I’m finally getting the riders names right lol.

Last Wednesday I taught Cazza and Bracken we worked on getting some trot out of Bracken on the long reins and then ridden. Still lots to work on to get a fluent transition and Trot but so much improvement in the way Cazza rides and how Bracken responds in the walk work.

Last Thursday I taught in a lovely place again covering for their normal instructor. Again working on a. Variety of different exercises with a variety of different horses and abilities. We all braved the horrible weather.

This morning I did some yard work cover at a lovely yard. I missed the horses there rather a lot. Back there on Friday x

Today I’m off to teach another cover Monday for a few hours 🙂 hopefully the horrid weather holds off. But I’m not one for being a fair weather teacher unless is dangerously bad.

On that note please remember unless it’s horrendously dangerous ie Gail force winds and hail/snow or if horse is poorly. I charge a cancellation fee within 24 hours of the lesson. A bigger charge will occur if you cancel when I’m already on my way so within the hour.
No cancellation fee if I cancel of course.

Thank you all for your custom I really enjoy teaching you all. X

Lovely day today 2 lessons taught
This morning was Cazza and Bracken we worked in the school on the long lines to start practicing previous exercises and then continued with another to get Bracken using her hind quarters. We the.on followed it by a walk out ridden for the firsts time since last year. Very small reactions to wanting to go home but was ridden lovely through it :)

Next was Jorja and Magpie. We long reined him in the field today. Last week he was very naughty napping bucking rearing and bolting off. So this week a little change of tack and he was a good boy. Many small strops but this was only testing out his new gear. He worked lovely in all three paces. I felt he was good enough for young Jorja to practice her long reining with the bit in his mouth. Teaching her to be soft In the hand and use more of the line as her leg.

Two successful lessons :)

A lovely afternoon/evening teaching yesterday
First was Jorja and Magpie we long reined in the field for the first time. He was rather cheeky and napped towards his field gate but he soon gave in and worked nice in all three paces with some trot changes of rein which he hasn’t done before.
We will work more on this next week.

Next was Dawn and Tara. We worked on a transitions to get Tara listening to the natural aids and to then pushed forward from behind and track up. We also added shallow loops, some circles, serpentines and worked on canter. Some lovely movements and transitions. We just need to work on keeping deep into the saddle to help more fluent transitions although this improving a lot already. The session defiantly made Tara mentally tired some huge yawns after.
A great session.

Had a really lovely day teaching yesterday. Lots of different abilities, exercises and horses of all shapes and sizes. I find it lovely to be able to adapt to all different sorts.
All horses and riders happy 🙂 x
Winegums first time jumping in a long time.

Lovely lesson taught today started off with a some long lining working on leg yielding and turn on the forehand on a serpentine. We then worked over poles to help create lift and straightness.
Cazza then worked with Bracken under saddle leaning over her to get her used to having weight on her back again to getting on board and having some really nice walk round with a few changes of rein and transitions 🙂
You’ll soon be schooling again in all paces x

A lovely week for SJW Equestrian
On Tuesday I taught a long line lesson to Cazza and Bracken we worked on some turn on the fore hand working on the inside track and three loop serpentines keeping her straight. We also introduced more trot trying to keep Bracken active. For a lovely cool down we long reined her down the lane and back to work on a little bit of nappiness Bracken has learnt. They both conquered this and showed some lovely work.

Today I taught Jorja on Magpie we went for her first hack in a while around a lake and around the estate. Jorja did very well to conquer her fears and rode lovely and positive especially towards the end Magpie soon learnt that he wasn’t allowed to turn around and race home.

Next was Dawn and Tara we worked on a few simple school movement to start to gain flexibility and to warm up those all important top lone muscles. We then did a number of pole exercises to create a active hind leg and a fluent bend through the turns over poles. After some giraffe moments Dawn did amazingly to get Tara back into the contact and working the correct muscles. Dawn also did very well at sitting taller over the poles and using her core to ride more obedient transitions.

I can’t wait until next week to work on a few new exercises with each :)

20/03/2021

Two lessons taught today first off was Jorja and Magpie we started on the long reigns and worked on Jorja’s aids and she had a go at trot got the first time on the lines. We finished off with a ride up the track and a couple of trots :)

Next was Dawn and Tara what a fantastic pair they make. Quick assessment as it had been a while since our last session. We worked on some simple but effective exercises to gain more flexion and less tension. We worked on getting a more active hind quarters and a more fluent contact. Some very nice work from the pair of them. I see huge improvements and huge potential in them both.

19/03/2021

Looking forward to tomorrow.
Two lessons booked in.
I’m so happy to be back out doing what I love x

Lovely long lining lesson taught yesterday for Cazza and Bracken.
Bracken is a young mare with plenty to give just needs a little reassurance and some schooling to get her listening to the natural aids. Cazza did really well teaching Bracken how to do turn on the forehand with the long lines and working on a rectangle instead of working round the corners. The straight lines improved to by working off the track so not to rely on the fence.
Can’t wait to teach them again. X

I taught a long reining lesson today.
Jora’s first time long reining and she did amazing

Would anyone like a dog walking service from myself?
I can do one dog walking session a day multiple dogs as long as they don’t pull to much.
Anywhere within 10 miles from Loughborough I can transport to a nice area to walk.
They will not be walked with my dog.
Let me know.
If you want to share that would be awesome ###
