Be sensible... I see far too many dogs being walked at the hottest part of the day. All of my dog walks anyday the temperature is above 22 degrees will be done from 8am. No dog has died from not having a walk but walking them in extreme heat can be a major risk.

People who know me well will know how much I love my dachshunds. I've owned them for almost 17 years. So it's no surprise that I will do anything I can to help this charity raise money to save these poor little dogs from the Meat trade in China. I'm currently a guardian angel for 2 dogs in China Oakley and Izzy that have been rescued and am helping pay for their treatments etc before they find their forever homes in the UK. Weekly Mouth Check Guide for Your Dog

Once a week, when your dog is calm, check the inside of their mouth for any changes. Here's what to look for:

🦷Colour: The inside should be a moist, bubble-gum pink.
🦷Growths: Look for raised areas, lumps, bumps, ulcers, or bleeding spots. Any changes in colour should be checked by a vet.
🦷Swelling, Bleeding, Receding Gums: These signs may need urgent attention. If you see raw, swollen, or bleeding areas, or receding gums, visit your vet.
🦷Overgrowth: If gum tissue is excessive and hides the teeth, see a vet, though it's not an emergency.
🦷Moisture: Gums should be moist and slippery. Tacky gums might indicate dehydration.
🦷Odour: Minimal odour is normal. Persistent bad breath can indicate dental disease, kidney disease, or diabetes.
🦷Tartar: Tartar at the gumline is painful and can lead to periodontal disease. Dental work is needed promptly.

KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE IN THE HEAT!!
It only takes 6 minutes in this sort of weather for a dog to die in a hot car and it happens every year sadly, so please be aware.
And in this sort of heat, walking your dogs should be early in the morning and when it has cooled down in the evenings.
We still see so many people out in the lunchtime sun, with dogs panting in their 'fur coats', burning their feet on the pavements.
Please also remember that those popular breeds of dogs with flat faces also often struggle to breath more than others, so are more at risk - Frenchies, Pugs, Boston Terriers, Bulldogs etc

‼ Dentastix ‼ The answer is FALSE - they contain some real nasty ingredients as per the image in this post.
💚 A great alternative are natural or raw chews for dogs. Always check the ingredients list and choose as natural as you possible.
