It’s been great to be back out at shows. Yesterday we headed to Arena UK I took Conker & Boo for the clear round where they both jumped great & clear. Kaya was a little star double clear to be 7th in the 1.05 & double clear to be 5th in the Newcomers. Crispie was a naughty monster, I thought I would just give him a nice pop round the 1.20 for his first outing back but he had other ideas 🙈 luckily he has redeemed himself today at Vale View jumping double clear to finish 2nd in the 1.30! I also took Conker & Boo again today to Vale for the clear round where they both jumped lovely clears! Thank you to our team, owners & sponsors both throughout lockdown and now we are back up and running again. With the big recent surge for trying hoods on horses and the affects they have on more difficult ones I spoke to Jayne Flook at Belvoir Equine Supplements and Laser Therapy LTD and asked her if she had any information on them. From there I have been using the Catago Fir Tech hood on a mare that tosses her head a lot whilst being ridden and the difference is huge. Here is a little clip of her in the hood. The cheekiest little homebred 4 year old who has had to be a fighter from day one of life, is now jumping his first courses out training and making us all smile 😊

Well with everything on hold we have turned most of our horses out for a spring break in the fields but we have a few still in work getting them a bit stronger doing flatwork, pole work & cavalettis but are still getting down time in the field over night. Katie recently got back on her homebred (Cookie’s-Jolie Fleur’s Embryo) now 4 year old who was broken at 3 and had been turned away ever since...he certainly has his mum’s attitude to life 😍 I’ve never ridden one so straight and keen to get jumping! 🎥 you won’t believe me this is him over his first fillers & double he really just wants to jump the jumps!🎥 We hope all our friends and supporters are staying safe. Another good day for Katie at Vale View today with the Jumpers. Klen (5 year old) jumped double clear in the British Novice. Drumaclann Brexit (5 year old) jumped clear & 4 faults in the Discovery. Over the moon with how the horses are jumping down at Hickstead both Newton DB & Drumaclann Brexit jumped clear in their age class qualifiers yesterday to qualify for their finals today. Our 6 year old Newton DB really rose to the occasion finishing 7th in the 6/7 year old Championship today in the International Arena! Also so proud of our 4 year old Drumaclann Brexit jumping the 1.10 4 year old final also in the International Arena for just the last down in the second phase. She really has the most incredible attitude. This was a big ask for both young horses going into the big grass arena but both of them showed such class and were totally unfazed, what a future these two horses have ahead of them. Jolie Fleur Van De Noordheuvel jumped yesterday in the International Arena for a lower placing in the 1.40. She is feeling on top form. Thank you to our super show groom Shannon Bibby for doing such a fantastic job down at Hickstead couldn’t do it without her! Quick trip to Vale View yesterday for the British Novice. Jitran our very exciting 5 year old jumping double clear to be 6th, looking forward to stepping her up in the coming weeks.
