Today sees the opening of the new charity shop in Blaby. Opened by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Richard Clowes Esq DL and RSPCA Inspectors.
The new shop is the first in the country to have the new RSPCA branding and very smart it looks too. With the environment and recycling in mind, the shop has a very different look and feel using many reclaimed materials to build the displays and counter.
Located at 3 Forge Corner Blaby you can now browse for preloved bargains, drop off donations, buy pet products 🐾 or find new goods.
Open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and on Sunday 10am to 4pm pop down and see Sarah and her team and grab yourself a bargain

🏡 Happy Forever Home Friday 🏡
Do you remember Bella the 5-year-old German Shepherd who came into RSPCA Woodside covered in skin lesions and very thin? Bella spent 9 months at RSPCA Woodside before finding her forever family.
Bella's family go on regular caravan holidays so this is Bella's first caravan holiday. She is really relaxed and enjoying exploring the great outdoors.
Special thank you to Bella's family for saving 2 lives- giving Bella a loving home and saving the life of the rescue dog who took her place in Woodside's kennels ❤️
Bella spent 9 months in kennels at Woodside Animal Centre and we're raising funds for our dog kennels to be refurbished so rescue dogs like Bella who have already been through so much in their short lives, can live as comfortably as possible while they're being rehabilitated at Woodside. If we can raise enough for the refurbishments to take place, our kennels will have underfloor heating to keep our dogs toasty, air conditioning to keep our dogs cool during hot weather, partitions will be added to help prevent the dogs from becoming too stressed, and kennels will be extended so mums can nurse their pups as comfortably as possible.

💕 Meet sweet Judy 💕
She came into us as a stray and was heavily pregnant. Now that all of her kittens have found their homes, it's time for Judy to find a place to call her own, too!
Although Judy loves to get fuss from the staff she knows and loves here at Woodside, she is still gaining her confidence, so she would like a nice quiet home with children 16 and over where she can continue to flourish.
She will need someone who will give her time and patience to adjust to her new home, but we are sure that given this time, she will make a loyal and loving companion!

Meet Mowgli
He has been with us for the last 11 months and now it’s his turn to find his Forever home. Mowgli may look like your average Golden Retriever; A breed we rarely see in Rescue, but he has unfortunately been with us from a young age and is very worried about meeting new people. He was also attacked by another dog as a Puppy.
He is not your stereotypical ‘Goldie’ who can run around off lead with other dogs and must be introduced to new people slowly and at his own pace. Over the time he has spent with us we have been hard at work training him including being muzzle trained so that we can introduce him to people safely and spending time walking past other dogs at a safe distance to help him stay calm and focused on his Handler.
Mowgli has been doing so well with his training and is Affectionate, Happy and Playful with the staff he knows. He loves to play with his toys in our enclosed fields and has mad zoomies both in and out of his Kennel! He also loves Fuss, being groomed and working for his treats.
We are looking for a very special home for this boy with someone who has the time and ability to advocate for him, continue his training and use his Muzzle when introducing him to new people and on his walks.

Have you seen gorgeous Daphnis the lurcher 😍?
5-yr-old Daphnis doesn’t realise her size and thinks she’s a lap dog. She loves a big snuggle on the sofa 🛋️. She’s rather affectionate and thoroughly enjoys giving kisses 😘.
Daphnis came into Woodside along with lots of other dogs so we believe it’s time she found her own family. Daphnis can live with children aged 11+ but is looking to be the only pet 🐾. Because of her breed having a strong prey drive, we recommend she wear a muzzle when out in public. Daphnis has already been at Woodside for 7 weeks so it’s time she went found her forever home. As you can see from our video, staff have already fallen for her so if you’d like to adopt her, you need to apply asap.

Rescues are full to bursting with animals 🐾because people keep buying from breeders, and due to the cost-of-living crisis, and the pandemic. We’re currently receiving up to 10 calls a day from people trying to sign ✍️ over their pets to us. 😭
Please consider adopting an animal from a rescue. Remember: Rescuing a shelter pet saves not only that pet but the animal who takes its place.

6 brave staff from RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre completed a wing walk 400ft in the air, flying at speeds of up to 140mph on 20th August. They are trying to raise funds for an orthopaedic kit to treat animals with broken bones and fractures on-site at Woodside’s vet centre.
