Following an inspection this morning we will remain closed for the remainder of this week, we need a few more days like today to allow the ground to improve, we are tentatively taking bookings for the weekend

Just to confirm: the new waters and half of the novice field are currently closed off until the ground improves, the original water is open and we still have lines of all levels around that including some new strong lines in the bottom field

Unfortunately following our inspection this morning we have made the decision to keep the course closed, there will be a further inspection and an update on Monday morning (18th)

The ground is drying up nicely today, we are hoping to open at the weekend, we will confirm Friday morning

Unfortunately due to the heavy rain over night we have made the decision to close the course. We will update every couple of days and open again as soon as possible

Some may not realise that we had a price increase September 2023

Our charges are £30 per horse Adults / £20 per horse Juniors (Under 16 years of age)

We must ask that ALL riders are booked in via Messenger, Whatsapp or Text 07394 933919, on arrival a disclaimer must be signed, sign in the registration book with date and time, payment must be made before entering the course, unless prior arrangement has been made with the office

Ground/Opening 2024 update

At last the ground is improving rapidly and we are working daily on the cross country to open, we are officially opening Friday 8th March, bookings now being taken for this date

Any competitive riders that need to train for Oasby potentially we could open solely for them on Wednesday 6th, numbers will be limited and will have to be confirmed Monday 4th

A small selection of new fences arrived for Barrowcliffe Cross Country in anticipation of our forthcoming opening for the season

Barrowcliffe XC has jumps/obstacles for all levels of rider, ranging from the smallest of fences (40-50cm) to championship training lines based on strong intermediate courses. In addition to this we have a new grass gallop of approx 1km

We are planning to open within a few weeks

As promised an update:
Last week we were chain arrowing the XC fields in preparation for opening. We plan to open on or before the 1st March 2024. We will keep you updated

Opening update – we are working tirelessly to open the XC as soon as possible, the ground is improving daily, hoping to open mid-February to the third week of February, there will be weekly updates from now on

2024 brings a further expansion to Barrowcliffe XC with exciting new competition lines, with a lot of new skinnies and corner brushes, we are also adding a perimeter grass gallop of approx. 1km including fences, this ground will be worked to keep in tip-top condition

We are now closed for the winter, hopefully re-open early February 2024, this will give us ample time to extend the facilities here at Barrowcliffe Cross Country, many new shoulder brushes and fences being erected over the winter months
