Beau 💙

Lovely Beau has just gone home after an 8 night stay with me. Thank you for being such a good boy Beau, for always bringing us a shoe/croc/toy when anyone comes home, for sleeping like a good boy in your bed every night, for making us laugh with your ‘talking’ and for just being a cool little houseguest.

I have been looking after Beau for almost 3 years now, he was one of my very first clients when I started Happy Hounds in 2022. I love how he still gets so excited when I arrive to pick him up and when his owners say “Becky’s coming” he runs to the front window and waits for me 🥰

This lovely bunch ❤️ Posing beautifully for me today! I definitely 💯 wasn’t bribing them with Waitrose’s finest fresh roast chicken 🤣

Today we have Fig the Whippet (here on her trial sleepover), Bobbie the Frenchie and Cooper the Whippet (both here for daycare) and Beau the Cockapoo (here on his holidays!). Plus my Dexter and Ralph of course ❤️

Model Shoot! 📸

Look at these pups! Totally up for having their photo taken today. Some days they won’t even look at me when I get my phone out! I think they were on their best behaviour for new girl Fig the Whippet! 💕 Little Fig in her stripey onesie came for her settle session today so we had a full house of beauties 🥰 Fig did brilliantly and the others all showed her the ropes and behaved impeccably. Look at my little Dexter sitting on the pouffe, he melts my heart ❤️ Love them 🥰

Oooh it’s been a busy week! I’ve just counted up, I’ve done 21 dog walks this week, had lots of lovely pups in and out the house for daycare, sleepovers, a settle session and a weekend full of boarders while their owners are out having Christmassy fun! We’ve had sunshine, rain, mist, frost, mild days with no coat needed, the whole shebang! The first pic was taken by my lovely friend and fellow dog walker when we walked together this week, capturing my life on a daily basis. A neck full of leads, dogs staring up at me pleading for treats or a ball to be thrown, ankle deep in mud and a full poo bag in hand swinging in the breeze. Oh the glam! Ready to do it all again next week! I’ve dipped in the sea almost every day this week too, it’s been freezing but it keeps me focussed and happy 🥰

Whippet walks and sunset dips! Pretty much the perfect day 🫶🏻 Gorgeous triple whippet walk with my Ralph and our lovely boy Arthur and sweet girl Nelly. Little Nels hasn’t joined us for walks or stays recently as she’s not been too well but thankfully she’s on the mend now and we’re easing her back in to the Happy Hounds gang ❤️‍🩹 Ended the day with the most perfect sunset dip, if it wasn’t so cold we could have been in the Maldives it was so stunning! 🌅

Ahead of a verrrry busy rest of the year, I took this weekend off. It’s been lovely! Yesterday was spent in London with good friends, seeing the Christmas lights in Covent Garden, a late lunch in Gaucho’s followed by lots of laughs at the Comedy Store in Leicester Square! Today has been relaxed, cooking, cuddling my dogs on the sofa. Both days started off with a dip in the sea though of course! A lot of my clients have been asking me am I still swimming now that it’s cold? The answer is absolutely yes, I’m in most days, as long as high tide works well with my working day. Love it so much 🩵 And yes, it’s bloody freezing 🤣🥶 Here’s some pics of some of my doggies this week xx

The Happy Hounds 2025 diary is open! I’ve taken so many bookings for next year already that it was time to buy the diary, rather than scribbling them all in the back of my 2024 one!

So, to my existing clients, if you have any definite holiday dates for next year when you’d like me to look after your furry baby but you haven’t told me yet as you thought it was too far in the future, please let me know and I’ll book them in 🐶

Maisie Moo/Maisie the Minx! 🩷

This little girl has gone home to her lovely family after 16 nights with us. She did amazingly considering it was a long time to be away from her favourite humans and her own home. She settled into our family life and routine beautifully and was very respectful of Dexter and Ralph. Various other dogs came and went during her stay as well, for holidays and daycare and she was sweet and kind with all of them. She particularly loved my Ralph and licked his face to say hello every morning 🥰 She’s completely ball obsessed and could seek out a tennis ball however well I thought I’d hidden it, loved her walks, loved a treat and loved her big fluffy bed! Oh and she absolutely adored my son Zac, she was beside herself every time he walked in the room 🤣🥰 You can most certainly come again little Maisie Moo 🩷

Today is my birthday! It’s been full of dogs and love and wet kisses (from dogs!) I’ve walked 10 dogs, got 2 dogs boarding and had 1 for daycare. I had a 20 minute dip in the sea with friends and then pizza and wine for dinner. Thank you doggos for making my day bright and for not rolling in any 💩

Happy 23rd birthday to my son Will ❤️ I could have chosen a 1000 photos of him with dogs, he adores them and our family group chat is filled with him sending photos, videos and memes of dogs! He works away from home alot and he misses our two so much, his phone screensaver is just photos of the dogs on constant repeat 🥰. He’s currently in America, on tour for Nicki Minaj with his Dad and I am so so proud of him. I miss them both enormously and especially today when me and the dogs just want to give him a hug! Love you Will ❤️

A very rare Wednesday morning off! So how did I fill my time? A dog walk of course 😊🐾 Just me and Ralphie, a gorgeous sunny walk along the seafront and through Old Leigh with a stop for a fabulous coffee 💛 Bumped into 4 of my lovely doggy clients!, a couple of friends and some fellow whippet owners (so obviously had to stop and talk all things Whippet). A wholesome morning 🥰

Just like one of our own Peggy got given an abundance of names whilst staying with us for 8 days! Bless her she answered to them all.

My little companion and shadow, you followed me everywhere without being intrusive and I loved the way you snuggled up to my legs when we were chilling together and your little face sniffs and kisses. You were a delight as always. A bundle of cuteness 🩷

She was sooo excited to see her lovely family when they picked her up 🥰

When Dexter goes paddleboarding 🩵

There’s life in the old dog yet! Our Dex is almost 10 and has dodgy back legs due to having Degenerative Myelopathy but he is still up for adventures and made me burst with pride yesterday! My husband often took him out on the paddleboard when Dex was young but he’s not done it for a few years and we wasn’t sure if he’d be up for it…but he was and absolutely loved it, as did Anthony 🥰

As they pulled into the jetty at the Crooked Billet loads of people were watching and taking photos, Dex was a little celebrity 🤣

Ralph and I went and met them down there and had a pint in the sunshine and Ralph looked horrified by it all (Ralph is scared of puddles so don’t think we’ll get him on the board!)
