Yesterday marked a whole year of Nala’s Adventures.

A year of :
25’000 steps a day
Incredible relationships with every pet and human i’ve met.
Being terrible with social media and my own marketing😂
Working crazy hours and my friends calling me mad
Picking up some weird and wonderful poo’s🤣🫣
Being covered in saliva
Getting absolutely drenched
Making some best friends in dog form
Meeting some beautiful breeds

In this year i’ve graduated university, i’ve took on this job full time which was a big risk for someone who’s worked in retail for 6 years😂

but i’ve loved absolutely every second… this business was never about money to me, it was all about doing something i love- even on the days where i’ve felt zero motivation to go out that day the moment i step through my first clients door my entire mood changes.

I have worked so hard to build this business in a way that it doesn’t feel like a job, and more like a hobby. With that i’ve built a regular client base of over 25 of you, from dogs, cats , guinea pigs , rabbits. I couldn’t be more grateful.

Thankyou so much for giving me the opportunity to have this business a year, and hopefully many more years to come.

‼️CLIENT NOTICE‼️

With the current forecast for the weather, i’d just like to raise a policy that i will not be walking any dogs in a temperature of over 24 degrees- visits will still occur as normal and walks can be moved to earlier/later times (please contact me if you would like this option)

If you have any questions/ are not needing a visit instead of a walk please can you let me know.

Your dog will not suffer from a missed walk however, they may well suffer from heatstroke or dehydration.

I really hate that I have to do this!

Effective immediately, I will be implementing a new policy requiring a 50% deposit at the time of confirming a booking for any pet sits. This decision comes after a recent incident where I lost a booking due to a lack of response from a client, resulting in a significant loss of income. As this is now my full-time job, I can no longer afford to experience such losses.

Please note that there will be a cancellation policy in place, stipulating that the deposit will be refunded if the sit is cancelled up to a week before the scheduled date. This is because I am unable to cover the booking, and subsequently my wage, if the cancellation occurs any later.

I sincerely hope for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Thank you for your continued support.

HEAT STROKE IN DOGS

with the weather warming up i feel it’s important to raise how dangerous elongated exposures to heat can be on your pup.

Please learn to recognise the signs of heatstroke!
-Heavy panting or breathing
-Excessive drooling
-The dog appears lethargic , drowsy or uncoordinated
- Collapse or Vomitting
Please refer to guidelines accessible online of how to prevent / treat heatstroke e.g. RSPCA website.

With this i will be making the conscious decision at the time of any walk on whether their walk should be shortened or even completed at all.

If this decision is made all dogs will still receive visits for the full amount of time unless stated otherwise. This is to protect your beloved pet! they will not be at risk from missing a walk but can well be at risk from having one in high temperatures!

In light of the recent, stated XL bully ban, i just wanted to write out a quick post. As you all know this is my Nala, she is my literal child and she is so loving and caring and as you can see soft as anything. However, non of this ever stopped us from being corned and argued with on walks saying i had an illegal breed and i shouldn’t be aloud to walk her in public places. Nala is a staffy and german shepherd two very legal breeds🤣 Nala has always been muzzled and never off lead because of her reactivity, even now when she very rarely reacts she is still always muzzled. i made this decision for not only the safety of other people and their dogs but for the safety of Nala. I accepted that there was so much more i could’ve done for her when she was younger to prevent this, so now i had to do my best to help her regain confidence. Then again non of this ever stopped every person giving me dirty looks, shouting at us and so much more. Please don’t punish the breed because of these incidents, it’s not all dogs of that breed and i could go into it all forever about being responsible for your dogs behaviour. You are more than welcome to always be cautious just incase, but never be nasty or aggressive towards an XL or their owners. I have come into contact with so many beautiful, soft XLs who are scared of butterflies🤣 it’s always about temperament and the management of it, the same with any dog of any size or breed. At the end of the day they are still animals. I will still be accepting walks / sits for XL bullies and i am more than happy to assist with muzzle training for no cost (i am not an expert or qualified but i have done this with my own dog). I can also recommend schools which are qualified to muzzle train your dogs and are doing it for free . Thankyou 🫶🏼 - Bekah x
