Sometimes our pets get nervous about their pedicures too! 💅

This little guy is a new addition to the mobile pet nurse family and his owner mentioned he’s a lovely boy up until his nails clips where he gets very upset and stressed.

I strongly believe in education and relaxation for both pets and their owners. Burt was lovely, friendly and cuddly up until his nail clip where he made lots of noise and a big struggle. Before we began, his owner and myself had a short discussion on how we would approach the nail clip. We discussed allowing Burt to have some rest breaks and play time.

After 10-15mins and a few “Frenchie screams” from Burt he’d had his nails done, came to me for a kiss and a cuddle and was all settled on his blanket.

As an RVN I can understand how pets do get upset for these procedures but will always make time to educate owners and devise a plan for how we can approach your little fur babies safely and calmly.

Here’s some photos from our recent Pet First Aid Course which is available to pet professionals and owners with a qualification awarded. This is delivered by myself and supported massively by Haigh Hounds

In order to gain qualification you would need to attend one of our events and sit a small exam on your phone. As an extra bonus we also add in some practical aspects with CPR!

We will be offering another opportunity for this in March so stay tuned as we will be releasing tickets very soon

🎃October Patients Update! 🐾

This month, we’ve seen it all— from routine nail clippings to some more serious cases, like a recent wound check for an excitable pup who had a little grooming mishap. 💇‍♂️🐶

After an unfortunate cut at the groomer’s turned into a more severe wound, I was called in to check her over. 🩹 After cleaning up, I advised an urgent vet visit, as the wound had been open for a few days and required stitches under sedation. Thankfully, the procedure went smoothly, and she’s now on the road to recovery. 🐕❤️

Top tip: Always ensure your groomer has insurance for accidents like this—it can make all the difference for smooth and affordable emergency care. 💡
