Lovely Willow was in to be spayed by vet Lucy today 🐶
She was a fab patient, who enjoyed loads of fuss from the nurses 💚
She trotted out and was super happy to see her Mum 🥰

This handsome boy came in to be castrated today ✂️
Take a look at how we prepare animals for routine castration surgery, followed by their aftercare 🩺
First we place an intravenous catheter in their front leg, which is the route we use to give them their premedication and then induction for anaesthesia 💉
Once anaesthetised and stable under anaesthetic, the surgical area is clipped and surgically scrubbed so it’s nice and clean ✨
The incision is made, and both testicles are removed. The surgical wound is then sutured together with a dissolvable suture material 🪡 *warning - contains blood and sensitive images*
Patients recover in their kennel with heat sources and one of our nurses monitoring them 👩🏼⚕️
Once fully awake from their anaesthetic, patients are offered some food and receive lots of post operative cuddles 🥰
Reggie was an A* patient today, wishing you a speedy recovery 💚

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank one and all that have helped get the practice looking like it is! It’s been a hectic two months since we got the keys at the start of February, but with everyone’s hard work, determination and drive, we’re ready to open our doors this week!
