Good morning my lovely people! ☀️

Firstly I just wanted to say thank you for the amount of support I’ve gotten the last few months whilst completing my course, from everyone who let me groom their dogs to everyone who likes my page! I couldn’t be here without you 🖤

And secondly I wanted to apologise for my lack of posts for the last week 😅 I’ve been taking a little bit of time out to sort things out and spend some time with my own fur babies 🐕‍🦺

My last full groom at my training academy! It’s been one of the best experiences of my life and this little monkey was an absolute pleasure so groom ☺️

Full groom- matted clip off 🐝

This one took some time and extra special love, this poor little man was severely matted all over so we had to take him extra short which we consider the kindest option.

Tips to prevent matting:
-brush and comb out daily 🐾
-if your dog gets wet, make sure they are dried thoroughly and not left to air dry 🐾
-Use detangling spray 🐾
-Have them on a regular groom schedule 🐾

If anybody would like advice on how to maintain their pups coat at home, please don’t hesitate to message me, I’ll be more then happy to help and advise the best tools to use on your dogs coat type 🖤

Nova was the best model for me this morning! 🐕‍🦺

My speed is improving now so I took the opportunity this morning to focus on sc******ng work, especially on the legs! Still room for improvement but I’m super proud of this one 🖤

Shaving a double coat- raising awareness 🐝

Why don’t we shave a double coated breed I hear you ask? Well.. not only does it affect your dogs ability to regulate it’s own temperature, it can cause what we call “coat funk” or Furunculosis.

Clipping damages the top coat of your beloved dogs fur and can affect the natural cycle of hair growth. Once removed, the topcoat of your dogs fur can take up to 2 years to fully grow back. And more often then not, it never grows back to it’s normal length or never grows back at all!

This little man had his double coat shaved by another groomer a few years ago and as you can see it’s grown back all patchy and in a weird sub texture to what his hair should be like.

Other problems that can occur when clipping a double coat include but aren’t limited to;
- Skin problems
- Sunburn & Skin damage
- Alopecia
- Doesn’t prevent shedding
- razor burn

So remember, next time you think about getting your fur baby’s hair cut short next summer, it does more harm then good 🖤

I honestly had way too much fun grooming Minnie this morning, she was the sweetest and all she really wanted was a cuddle 😍

Nails 🐝

Lily was overdue her nails being clipped, she’s the sweetest girl but absolutely hates her paws and nails being touched! That’s didn’t stop me from making her more comfortable though 🖤

Regular maintenance for nails is important to prevent overgrowth which can lead to your dog being in pain/discomfort 🐶

- £5 for a solo nail trim 🐾
- Or nail clipping is included in every full groom/bath, brush & tidy 🐾

I passed my 3rd and final exam today on the lovely miss Beasley 🎉🐾

This lovely old girl is growing out her skirt and back leg furnishings, hence the slight difference in proportion from front to back 🙈 but nevertheless she looks beautiful 🖤

Exam- Pattern lines 🐝

I passed my 2nd exam today! 🎉

Rosie the shih Tzu was abit of a challenge! Due to her being prone to skin and yeast infections, it was hard to get a neat overall finish on her as she’s prone to sparsing and bald patches occurring when being clipped/scissored 🐕

She was such a good girl for me though! 🖤

PUPPY INTRO 🐝

Teddy was the most well behaved boy (and handsome too 😍) for his first puppy intro groom! 🐕‍🦺

Puppy intros are essential for getting your young pup used to the grooming environment. Just like any other training, it’s important to keep up with appointments so it’s easier to style them later on down the line 🐕
