It’s all about the fibre intake…NOW! 🥶🐴 the temperatures in Sussex have finally dropped. It’s looking they might stay this way for a couple of days. If your horse is the type that often drops off in the Winter. (In a negative way, they are old, TB type always on the lighter side) Not your lovely rounded native that uses the winter time to reduce weight to allow for the spring weight gain. Now is the time to keep your horses fibre intake up. You might choose to up their hay ration, or add in a bucket feed of fibre to add variety and interest. I love to add a variety of fibers to Storms diet, on top of his bad diet. (Vits, Mins and required protein / energy requirements) This helps to mimic how he would selective graze if he had unlimited space and turnout.
