Notice the indentation on his neck?
This is known as a ‘prophets thumbprint’, from the Bedouin legend.

The Prophet Mohammed is said to have pressed his thumb into the neck of his 5 most loyal and special mares.
Mares which were used for breeding the Arabian horse.

Horses who bear this birthmark are thought to be the descendants of these five most loyal and courageous mares and are believed to be ‘exceptional’.

Really looking forward to Middleham Park Racing Owners Day this weekend!

A great opportunity for the owners involved with these horses to see them during their summer here at Sun Hill, before they head back into full training with their respective trainers.
