Sorry we're late with our Monday training challenge, we've been busy grouse counting and I forgot to schedule it yesterday 🤣 as you can see Beau Beau is a little tired because we've been up since 4.30am.
Steadiness/impulse training
Four dummies out as close as you can get them without them moving. Collect all the four dummies and reward with a simple mark for a reward. Good luck 🤞 ❤️

Some over-ahead distractions for Beau beau. I asked Lilly to join us half way through as you can see she needs a little work! first time I've done this type of training with her bless her she's a keen bean. I'm not fussed about delivery with my own dogs, I've got some dogs who deliver fantastic and some that are not too great! But for me personally when we do 100+ days a season and I've got 8 working dogs bringing game back to me all at the same time I'm just happy they hold it and wait their turn for me to collect it! Beau is such an enthusiastic Labrador who even does zoomies after he's delivered game to me sometimes and I love that about him, he has this quirky personality that I don't want to take away from him. I don't like to put too much pressure on my dogs I just want them to enjoy whatever they're doing. We are a Working Gundog team and they do me proud every season ❤️💪

Apart from not sitting longer than 5 seconds she did well 😅 but tbh I'm used to her now. I've owned her and her sister moose for about two years now and they've been a handful haha 😅 I got them off a keeper who was having a change of career and I've just learnt to love their quirkiness 😂 they sit like meerkats or not at all 🤣 there is a true saying and I still believe it (Labradors are born half trained) and a (spanner dies half trained) haha but I love them for what they are and they're both cracking workers with a cheeky personality 😍
You forget how much joy they bring you sometimes. Lost my mojo for training my own dogs a wee bit due to life and being busy with puppies and clients dogs. But these guys always put a smile on my face
