Are you happy to take your dog for a walk for the next 12-14 yrs every day in all weathers.?☀️🌤🌩🌧❄️
Having worked with rescues for some 20 yrs I have seen time and time again dogs coming into rescue that the owners realise that dog ownership was harder than they thought.
Ignore the on line adverts for puppies.
Go to a registered breeder, every breed of dog has a breed club, they will give you advice on that breed, and you can then make an informed decision on what breed of puppy suits you and your lifestyle.
Also remember good breeders have waiting lists, be prepared to wait for the right dog.
Good breeders take care where their puppies go, so be prepared to answer lots of questions about your lifestyle.
Good breeders also have their dogs health tested and will give you the relevant paperwork, to show you these tests have been done.
Dont be afraid to ask the breeder questions too.
At the end of the day it will be your dog with your family and hopefully have them in your life for a long time.
Lastly, we are always here for help or advice so dont be afraid to ask...😃
Meet handsome Hugo, who today had a 121 Home Training session to further his loose lead walking.
We also discussed how to keep a gun dog mentally busy and the methods we can use for this.
He is such a clever boy and picked things up very quickly.
Well done Hugo..👍 le woods #

Please don't give these to your dog…😞
My yearly Christmas warning…. Rawhide...
The word that makes me cringe!
It won't be long till pet shops will start having things like this on their shelves!
Raw hide is not a product of the meat industry, it's a product of the leather industry!
They bleach and glue raw hide to make these shapes.
How It’s Made
“Producing rawhide begins with the splitting of an animal hide, usually from cattle. The top grain is generally tanned and made into leather products, while the inner portion, in its “raw” state, goes to the dogs.” The Bark
It isn't digestible, and can often go stringy meaning it can get stuck down your dogs throat. There are so many alternative chews that are long lasting.
-horns
-antlers
-yak chews
All these are totally natural and will not hurt your dog.
If you love them do not buy rawhide and let's help by not purchasing them put an end to the rawhide industry! Mostly made in China also, where they have very minimal standards for things such as rawhide.

Using different levels of rewards.
