Here’s a link to a really good website where you can check out the nutritional value of what you are feeding your pups. It makes for some surprising reading!

Updated 40+ brands today, with new pricing and ingredients including Tesco Complete. Unfortunately the update did nothing to improve their nutrition score (links in comments).

Yes it is cheap but we struggled to find any other positives. 4% total meat - enough said.

It is easy to cast judgement on people feeding this food, but unless you understand food labels (which many people do not, even for human food) then it is easy to see why this type of product continues to be popular.

Sweltering temperatures this week. I’m having to rearrange Fridays grooms as it’s just not safe for the dogs. Please take Pool Houses advice and don’t walk your dogs in this heat. Keep them indoors or give a cold wet towel to lay on. And don’t leave them in the car even with a window open. Bring your small animals in to the shade and make sure they all have enough water. Keep them safe.

‼️Heat Stroke Warning ‼️

We are forecast a very hot week with temperatures likely to rise above 30C by the weekend.
We urge pet owners not to underestimate the threat of this heat.

Dogs are particularly vulnerable, not just from being in cars but even just walking your dog in the heat of the day can be enough. Brachycephalic (flat-faced breeds) or dogs with respiratory or heart problems are even higher risk and we would advise not to exercise these dogs at all in the heat.
Rabbits and guinea pigs left out in direct sun without access to shade can also be at risk so please leave runs in cooler, shaded areas.
If you think your pet has heat stroke please contact the practice IMMEDIATELY, it can be fatal if not treated promptly.

Please let me know if you have any symptoms of covid so that I may rearrange your appointment not only to protect my business from loss of earnings from my own infection but MOST IMPORTANTLY to prevent infecting my extremely clinically vulnerable parents who we have strived to keep safe for the last two years. They are my world.

A brilliant point made by a friend and fellow groomer. Give your pups somewhere quiet they can take themselves off too if it all gets too much. It’s a long day for everyone xx

A gentle reminder. Our fur friends can be overwhelmed by the festive season. Energy levels rise, extra noise, visiting humans, excited children. Pets that are use to quiet home life can feel very unsettled at this time of the year.

“I can’t quite put in to words how happy we are to let you all know that, after three weeks, Trouser has been found. In a Coalville in Leicestershire believe it or not. Suspected to have been taken by ‘that white van’ but after thousands of shares of our posts and 22,000 views of her video, she finally became ‘too hot to handle’ and was dumped in a country lane. We have all of you to thank for doing that. We will rack our brains to think of a way we can thank you all. We will never be able to truly explain how totally overwhelmed we were by all the love and support. Thank You. What an adventure she has had. ❤️❤️❤️ !

Still missing 😢

Very sad to say the update on Trouser is that she still isn't back. Not even been seen since 10.30 am yesterday, despite 100s of people, very kindly, pounding the streets, fields, woods and towpaths, in the mother of all searches. We just wanted to say that we are completely overwhelmed by all the love and help we are receiving. She certainly is a very 'loved' dog. Thank you all so very much. ❤❤❤ We will let you know as soon as we hear anything. We live in an amazing place full of amazing people. Thank you.
