As it’s the last Friday before Christmas we are running a festive competition! There is one cat goody bag and one dog goody bag up for grabs!

As we enter the final week in the run up to Christmas we hope all of our clients are looking forward to the festive period! Our pets will of course be a huge part of the holiday celebrations however please be mindful that Christmas treats can pose a danger to our four-legged family members.
Little Bertie here learned today that mince pies are toxic to dogs…he was swiftly brought to the practice by his owner for treatment.

Other Christmas dangers for our pets include -

- Onions
- Nuts
- Poinsettia
- Xylitol
- Bones

Lovely little Lola is a nervous lady when it comes to visits to the vets, she has been coming in to see us weekly for some desensitisation. She has come a long way in the last couple of weeks and she is now beginning to enjoy receiving some love & fuss from our team, along with some gravy bones!

Is your dog nervous when coming to the vets? Please feel free to pop in to reception with them for some exposure to the sights, smells & sounds of the practice, if our reception team are free they are more than happy to spend some time giving some fuss and some treats! 🐾

We have had a small, black, terrier-type dog handed into the surgery today, found near Torksey.
He is chipped but sadly the details are not up to date.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Our day started off with a visit from these two bundles of mischief! Brother & sister duo Tilly & Mikey have been settled into their new home for a week now and were brought in to us today for a full health check with vet Lauren.
They passed with flying colours and seemed to enjoy their time in the consultation room with some tasty treats and some exploring!

We look forward to seeing Tilly & Mikey again in a few weeks time! 🐾

Today our vet Lauren provided a talk at the Pavilion in Saxilby regarding all things hedgehogs! There was a great turn out for this and a lot of information was shared.
Did you know that hedgehogs are sadly on the decline and are classed as vulnerable to extinction?

These little guys need all of the help we can provide to ensure they remain a part of our world. Please have a look into how you can play your part in helping these wonderful creatures survive and thrive.

With bonfire night coming up PLEASE ensure to check for hedgehogs before lighting a bonfire, they are headed into hibernation this time of year and your pile of leaves or stack of firewood may be the perfect place for them to settle in for the winter. 🦔 🐾
