I met a lovely couple today who rescued two cockatiels they named Lilo and Stitch who were very unhappy in a cage, they flew straight from their travel cage and into the aviary, instantly making friends and exploring.
I’m looking forward to seeing how they get on and watching their personalities come out.

This is Pebbles, she came in around 3 years ago. She’s always been ‘tame’ as in she will take food and sit on your shoulders but don’t touch…. I put her in the aviary and after that she became more wild. She no longer wanted my attention as she had real bird friends, as it should be.

This morning is the first time in a year or so she’s decided to come and groom me. Happy days. ❤️

This is Gorgeous George he likes to make heart wings at my daughter so she gives him kisses and fresh rosemary from the garden.

This is Tom and Jerry, they came in yesterday.

I gave them today to settle into our noisy house and after a quick health check & nail trim they are very indignantly eyeing me up from the other side of the room.

Both are roughly 5 months old but Jerrys flight and tail feather haven’t grown, so I’ve given her lots of perches to help her get around.

We will be keeping a close eye on them…

This is Yoda, his owner and I have been talking for months about him coming to the Tweet Retreat but they lived two hours away.

Well yesterday we picked him up he’s a lovely little chap.

It was lovely to meet his owners and I hope we stay in contact.

Hopefully they will be able to pop in and see him when he’s more settled.

This is something that’s grown naturally from picking up my first rescue cockatiel Birdie who was roughly 4 and had lived in a tiny cage.

She was so scared to come out but we left the door open as much as possible and she soon joined us for meals and stole our food. It took her ages to realise she could fly.

She’s now part of a flock of several rescues and has her best friend Nala.
