As a City and Guilds level 3 Dog Groomer, and as the owner I have tailor made this boutique to offer you as the dog owner and more importantly your dog, the very best in grooming and customer service. I have worked with and been around animals my whole life and feel that giving any animal time and reassurance helps them to settle and enjoy themselves. in a purpose built Grooming Boutique, to provide a high quality grooming experience. Major Groom is situated on Sudbrooke Lane, Nettleham, we provide a family run, friendly service. This boutique has been set up to offer the client and their owner a complete first class service, with a relaxed approach to grooming. At Major Groom we will provide a one to one personal service for your dog. We ensure that their health, well being and safety is our main concern at all times. At Major Groom every dog is an individual, and they are all treated in that regard, with their own personal requirements taken into account. Allowance has been made to incorporate a disabled access and a large exercise area. Limited on-site parking is available. Large Breed Considerations
Also an area has been created within our grooming parlour for giant breeds such as Great Dane, St.Bernards etc. This ensures that your pet will be receive the very best care while they are with us. Pick-up and delivery service
Here at Major Groom we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service, so you can also choose to have us pick up your dog and delivery them back to you all s***k and span and looking their very best. When you book your appointment make sure you request this service so we can ensure that it is available for the date and time you require.

This is the knew addition to the family. Freydis is settling well she is a Tibetan mastiff and love playing with her big sisters Lagatha and Astrid !!!
She is at her first championship show in three weeks with her sisters !!!!
She is again and imported dog from Poland from a fabulous breeder that only breeds the very best!!!!
Hopefully Freydis as her sisters will qualify for crufts 2026 but see how it all goes fingers crossed !!!!
The weather!!!!
The heat is bothering her at the moment much like every other dog in the uk at this present time!!!!
we have resulted to very early walks for all the dogs late walks or no walks
We have fans on all over the house and fresh cold water being changed so much to keep them cool
We got the dog pool up last week which I have spent more time in that the dogs but it all helps to keep them cool
I would just like to make all customer aware that if the temperature keeps going up like this, when it hits 30 degrees I will not be able to groom!!!getting your dog dry with dryers is way to dangerous at 30 degrees
I would never put anyone’s dog at risk so all customers will be contacted at this point and moves to a day where the temperature is safe for your dog and I feel that the conditions are Appropriate, to do our job safely !!!
Major groom is all about the welfare of you dog and making sure the conditions are right to work safely on your dog is Paramount 
Older dogs struggle in the heat at the best of times so grooming them in the wrong condition s is a definite no go
Dogs with heath problem such as heart conditions in this heat is also dangerous to groom
Please let us know if any changes in your dogs in the heat or recent things your have noticed about your dogs on arrival !!!!
Major Groom can change things around to help your dog in many differe ways to make sure they stay healthy and well in this heat and the conditions are safe to groom to dog !!!!

This is sushi!!!! (No she is not for eating ).
She is a puppy Chow Chow, she is an amazing little girl that has come to Major Groom, for the very first time 😊
Well she has take to it, like a duck to water !!!!
Everything is all knew to her but she has acted like this is a walk in the park!!!
Fabulous nature, so laidback about the whole experience!!!!

A Chow Chow has a double coat so keeping this coat very clean, brushed and combed daily is so important!!!
This, helps keep Sushi healthy!!!
Many Chow chows end up matted and get” hot spots “ in areas of their skin !!!
This can be totally avoided by daily grooming !!!! A quality diet, of meat but lots of fruit and vegetables !!!
A good bathing regime, in professional products, Insures the coat is very well conditioned.
There is many specialist products that has been brought out for Groomers, to use to ensure that a Chow Chow’s coat get professional care!!!
These products are costly but will keep your Chiw Chow healthy and save you a small Fortune on vet bills 

Vets love dogs with skin condition it a money making racket !!!!
The animal is suffering, which is terrified !!!!and it’s is costing their owner a small fortune !!!!
Most of skin conditions are due to a poor diet and not being groomed regularly enough!!!!
There is many different products on the market but natural products on dogs is always the best way to go!!!
I have learned so much over the years on food nutrition , skin conditions and your dogs health!!!!
It’s mind blowing and I am still learning, after years of experience !!!

If you didn’t know, We do Cats too!
Long haired cats are not easy to look after their coat often gets very dirty which then make the cats coat very greasy, which In turn, makes it very hard for the cat to then clean its coat properly itself !!
Foxy is a lazy long haired girl that isn’t the best at grooming herself
Foxy’s owner cannot maintain her coat on their own.
So she now comes to Majorgroom
She has been to us before after going to other groomers that shaved her coat off in clumps! didn’t bath her or in anyway do the job properly.
If fur isn’t clean, whether that be on a dog or cat, you cannot work on their coat properly.
I cannot stress this enough!
Clean is ace, dirty is a waste (of time)
Foxy comes to the salon at the end of the day when all the dogs have left.
So foxy get one to one care
She is a sweet little girl that has take to the whole bathing and grooming process well, even though most cats hate water!
She loves the drying process, warm air blowing on her, she is just chillin 😎
When she is finished she looks and smells amazing
She purrs at me like to say thank you! 😊
What a sweetie!!
I like cats they are intriguing individuals and this one is definitely one of them

I am sorry to have to inform all customers but from the 1st march all our prices will be going up, to allow us to be able to keep using the same quality products and give your dogs the time and quality service we always have Major Groom appreciates, that’s everything is and has all gone up recently but due to this we have no choice but to do the same
As all customers are aware ours prices have not gone up for over two years but unfortunately I can not afford to not put them up now

Finally got a yes !!!!
So as a normal Ower,of any pet their wish is your command !!! Think it should be the other way round but on his birthday I will roll with that!!!!

This is Ragnar my own dog he is one of the biggest dogs I groom weighing in at over 100kg, so yes we do groom very large breeds
Major groom has had a lot of phone calls lately asking if will will groom there breed of dog!!!!
As other, groomers they have contacted will not groom them !!!!!
We try to not discriminate between breeds we do dogs from chihuahuas to xl bullies, pit bull x , cane Corso, Romanian rescues, Caucasian Shepherds and many more
Every breed has the right to be groomed and looked after.
we accommodate those breeds of dogs into our days to suite the dogs needs whether  that be they don’t like other dogs or are wary of people or they or never been groomed before !!!’
This is part of what any good groomer should be able to offer all breeds of dogs and that s what we do
Major groom has a policy that we try our upmost to not muzzle any dog time and patience is a massive part of our job but that’s what is required to do, our job properly
Your dogs happiness and feeling confident in the grooming environment is what is required not a muzzle
Most dogs love cheese, chicken and cooked beef it’s amazing how dogs react to really good treats you can work with him/ her by doing this !!!
it is positive reward based training which we apply daily to the grooming environment 
There is nothing positive about a muzzle when a piece of cheese can work 100% better

Vinny today at the groomers !!! what a character totally adorable, he never wants to go home, where I know he is totally spoilt but still never wants to leave me!!!
My job is so rewarding, to work with dogs all day, no matter your mood they can alway make you smile and feeling happy inside!!!
Working with dogs isn’t even a job to me it getting paid to do something that I love 💕
I can’t emotionally think of not ever having a dog or working with them the rewards to me are so massive
The different types of breed and their individual personalities
Most of the time I feel honoured to there owner for allowing we to either groom or train their dogs
Look at Vinny what a star loves the whole experience never mind when he has finished his groom him and Astrid running around the shop is hilarious !!!

This is Maisie  she is an excellent example of a Cairn Terrier she is 11 years old, her weight is good she has good teeth for her age is amazingly sprightly  for these older years
This breed is a excellent family pet great size very friendly and hardy not a breed that’s at the vets often
Which with present vets costs is a good addition to the family
She has been so well behaved today for her first groom with us and is welcome any time

This is Thunder he has been groomed by us now for over a year
Thunder was rescued by a lady called Adele 
She has done wonders with this dog he came to us and skin and bone his coat was totally matted and he was covered in his own  urine , the smell was something else
We had to wash him seven times to get his coat clean and not smelling the water was one of the worst I have ever seen come off any dog he spent ages in the bath having an intense conditioning treatment blasted into his coat to take the dryness out, and for it not to feel as brittle the condition of this beautiful dog over all was terrible and Ginny and myself found it very upsetting to see such a lovely dog get neglected so badly  and thank god he found Adele to help him
Grooming him took us over 6 hours which is a great deal for a dog but he was amazing, it was like he knew we were here to help
We got over two bin liners of matts and old fur out of him
The mats were nothing I had ever seen been before, Thunder showed no complaints he would just lay there and let us get on with the massive job at hand, of getting him on the road of being the dog her should be
He can in yesterday for his Christmas groom and see the transformation is 12 months is amazing he has literally doubled his body weight and is coat is now like is should have always been shining and full like his breed type
It warms my heart to see that there is some really good people out there that will take care of dogs like this !!!!
I have a very big admiration for Adele I know her road with thunder hasn’t been a easy one but looking at him now and how happy she is with him!!!!the perfect dog that he has become is amazing and i credit to her and thunder
As soon as he sees Adele you can see how much he grown to love her and the love she has for him
I am so great full to do my job and get to know such special people and dogs it’s very rewarding
