Dogs have a higher body temperature than humans. Whereas our average body temperature is around 37°C, our four-legged friends should be in the 38-39.2°C range 🌡

Some breeds of dog will feel the cold more than others, especially those with a shorter finer coat. To help gauge how they're feeling look out for their body language and behaviour… 🐕
•Shivering or trembling
•Whining or barking
•Curling up into a ball
•Acting weak or lethargic
With older dogs, colder temperatures can effect their joints, so check for signs of soreness or stiffness as they move.

To make sure your dog is warm enough inside your home you can…
• Play games which will also keep them entertained 🎾
• Keep them dry 🐾
• Let your dogs coat grow or a use dog coat for short fur 🐩
• Consider the flooring - best to avoid putting their bed on tiled surfaces 🛏

You can also use a self warming pet mat or one with a removable microwaveable heating pad as well as warm blankets and bedding ☁️

As the weathers getting colder it’s still important for your furry friends to get the fresh air that they require!

In cold weather consider investing in a warm coat for your dog. If frosty or there’s snow on the ground be cautious and only take brief walks.

•Shorter Walks For Senior Dogs - Recommended for older dogs who may not be able to handle the colder temperatures 🐾

•Grooming - I offer Bath&Brush and Nail Clipping which is recommended after a muddy winter walk to get rid of any dirt or tangles in the fur 🐾

I’m excited to announce that I am offering dog walking/ pet sitting services in Blindley Heath 😊 After successfully completing a Level 3 Technical Diploma in Animal Management at college, as well as obtaining qualifications in Animal Care Level 2, I feel well-prepared to provide excellent care to your beloved pets.

My passion for animals has led me to gain valuable experience through work placements at dog groomers and doggy day cares 🐩

I am insured and completely a pet first aid course. Currently, I don’t have a driving license, so would only be able to collect and walk dogs nearby🐾
