Wow.. Two years of The Pooch Place, if you'd told me two years ago how far it had come I wouldn't have believed you.

From being excited to have even three dogs in a week in my little garage salon to being fully booked weeks ahead in a proper shop, I couldn't have done it without all of my brilliant customers. Without your recommendations, support and encouragement it wouldn't have been possible.. I really do have the best clients in the world, I'm so grateful for all of the amazing dogs and people I've gotten to meet and work with. It continues to be the best job ever - Maddy & Floyd 🐾❤️

The amount of hair that comes off a husky never fails to amaze me.. the hair pictured is just what came off in the bath (not pictured - literally everything including myself covered in a thin layer of white hair 🤣)

We use the close open close method for double coats like this, which means we apply conditioner to loosen the undercoat and blast it, rinse, shampoo twice, condition a final time before blowing dry and brushing. This keeps a healthy coat as well as keeps the dog happy with less actual brushing.

The gorgeous Frieda came in for her second handstrip at The Pooch Place - Starting with a cute portrait, I've then attached a pic of before and after her strip. Following that I've attached a clip of her after her strip last time where she was looking extremely sparse (she had gone a long time without a strip so her coat needed to start over) and then a clip of her coat after stripping this time. What a difference! Such a beautiful healthy wire coat has grown in just a few months after one session. Handstripping is the only way to keep Wirehaired dogs looking to the breed standard, clipping can quickly make their hair go soft and fluffy compared to course and wirey as its supposed to be.
