I absolutely love a rescue dog 😍 Arlo here was adopted by his family 6 months ago after having a pretty stressful first few years of his life. He is a very sweet but very skittish and fearful boy, after a few small sessions where we just trimmed his feet, today we managed a full clip. He did so well, I am very proud of him and his progress in the salon. Whilst his haircut isn't aesthetically perfect, Arlo has had a positive, easy experience which is exactly what he needs 🥰🐾 humanity over vanity always!

The gorgeous Frieda came in for her second handstrip at The Pooch Place - Starting with a cute portrait, I've then attached a pic of before and after her strip. Following that I've attached a clip of her after her strip last time where she was looking extremely sparse (she had gone a long time without a strip so her coat needed to start over) and then a clip of her coat after stripping this time. What a difference! Such a beautiful healthy wire coat has grown in just a few months after one session. Handstripping is the only way to keep Wirehaired dogs looking to the breed standard, clipping can quickly make their hair go soft and fluffy compared to course and wirey as its supposed to be.
