We were heartbroken to deal with the aftermath of a dog attack today 💔🐑

It goes without saying.

Dogs MUST be kept on a lead.

Regardless of how cute, fluffy and friendly your dog is at home, how well trained they are. Any dog is capable of worrying livestock. Their instinct to hunt, chase and kill in these situations far outweighs anything else.

I like to think that the dogs of rainbow bridge, will be lining up to greet the wonderful Paul O’Grady today. Waiting to welcome a beautiful man who did so much good for their kind. I like to think he will be rolling around with dogs he lost, dogs he saved and dogs who simply heard of his kindness. Covered in fluff, smothered in kisses and loved, loved loved.

Thank you for making us laugh till we cried and for making a true difference this side.
You will be missed, never forgotten and always loved.

Rest in peace wonderful man.

It's starting to get frosty! 🥶
Please watch your pets paws on the salt and grit at this time of year. There will be lots on the pavements and driveways, so please watch out for this as it can cause irritation, burning and dryness on the paw pads. Is can also be harmful if ingested.
Top tip : Make sure to wash your pets paws after being on cold walks, keep them clean and cozy

Mairi’s Animal Services is looking for unique individual to join our team. You must have a keen passion for dogs and have a desire to work outdoors as it can be a very wet and muddy job.

You must be able to interact and engage with all breeds of dogs in a confident and positive way.

You’ll be independent, driven, committed to giving an excellent standard of care to each dog.

Your main role will be collecting dogs from there home and exercising them in our private enclosed field providing them with fun and stimulation whilst maintaining their welfare and safety at all times. Making sure the field is kept clean and tidy at all times and then returning them back home after there walk.

You will need to interact with clients professionally.

Hours range from 12-20 hours depending on the week. Additional hours may be available in the future. You must be flexible with the need of the business.

Training will be provided on the job.

Requirements
Experience with dogs.
A dog care/training/behavioural background is desirable but not essential.
Genuinely care for dogs and their welfare.
Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
Reliable, honest and trustworthy.
Able to work alone and in a small team.
Able to communicate professionally with clients.
Happy to work flexible hours.
Good time management. Punctual.
Must be active and enjoy being outdoors in all weathers.
Full clean UK driving license.
Must be willing to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check.
