We currently live and run Holberry Hounds in the village of Linthwaite in the Colne Valley of Huddersfield. I have lived in Huddersfield my whole life, predominantly within the Colne Vall

ey, yet spending much of my youth working on my Grandfathers farm on the outskirts of Halifax, West Yorks. From an early age I have been fascinated by the animal world and have grown up around them, especially horses and dogs! As a very young boy I learned how to ride horses and often competed in regular shows. Dogs were such an important part of my childhood; going off and exploring the countryside with the dogs at every opportunity, what more could a young lad ask for!Dog grooming is a career that I have wanted to pursue for a number of years, however life can take you in any direction as I’m sure we all know! I am so grateful for the opportunity to pursue my ambition of being a successful ‘Dog Barber’ and sharing my skills with the canine community. Holberry Hounds is a chapter in my life that I am extremely proud of. It has brought my family and I many new friends (both human and furry!) and memories to cherish.Thank you for reading a little bit about me and I look forward to welcoming both you and your four legged friends in to the Holberry Hounds family!

About us

My name is James Holberry, ‘Dog Barber’ and co-founder of Holberry Hounds with my wife Joanne and my two Patterdale Terriers; Rodney and Theo. We currently live and run Holberry Hounds in the village of Linthwaite in the Colne Valley of Huddersfield.
