My name is James Holberry, ‘Dog Barber’ and co-founder of Holberry Hounds with my wife Joanne and my Patterdale Terrier Rodney. We currently live and run Holberry Hounds in the village of Linthwaite in the Colne Valley of Huddersfield. I have lived in Huddersfield my whole life, predominantly within the Colne Valley, yet spending much of my youth working on my Grandfathers farm on the outskirts o

f Halifax, West Yorks. From an early age I have been fascinated by the animal world and have grown up around them, especially horses and dogs! As a very young boy I learned how to ride horses and often competed in regular shows. Dogs were such an important part of my childhood; going off and exploring the countryside with the dogs at every opportunity, what more could a young lad ask for!Dog grooming is a career that I have wanted to pursue for a number of years, however life can take you in any direction as I’m sure we all know! I am so grateful for the opportunity to pursue my ambition of being a successful ‘Dog Barber’ and sharing my skills with the canine community. Holberry Hounds is a chapter in my life that I am extremely proud of. It has brought my family and I many new friends (both human and furry!) and memories to cherish.Thank you for reading a little bit about me and I look forward to welcoming both you and your four legged friends in to the Holberry Hounds family! We are super excited that not only will we be showing Romeo at crufts this year which is a dream, but James will also be doing two grooming demos on the Hyponic & Utsumi stand in Hall 2 stand 5!

If any of our customers are going to be at crufts this year be sure to come and say hi and if you’re there on the Friday come and watch naughty Romeo strut his stuff in the ring! 🤣

For any of our friends in the showing industry who are showing and want to get in any last minute spruce ups before going into the ring, you are more than welcome to come by and use our grooming table where James will be on hand to help with anything you need!

This little man has been coming to us from the very start of the Holberry Hounds journey and he’s been a part of our little HH family ever since!

Archie will be dearly missed and it won’t be the same not seeing his handsome face every few weeks in the salon! 😔

Happy New Year everyone! 🥰

We can’t believe another year has passed, where has the time gone. It’s been another crazy busy year for us at Holberry Hounds and we are truly blessed to have such loyal and amazing customers who continue to support our little business. 🫶🫶🫶🫶

To be rated the number one dog groomers in Huddersfield again this year was such an honour and to get that recognition means so much to us and makes it all worth it! 🤗

We also want to take this opportunity to remember all of the dogs we have lost that have crossed the rainbow bridge this year and since we opened. It’s probably one of the hardest parts of our job that never gets any easier, saying goodbye and watching our beautiful dogs growing old; but one thing’s for sure, that sparkle in their eyes and wag of their tail never falters and the unconditional love is always there right until the end! 🌈🐶♥️

We can’t wait to see our little HH family going into 2025 and welcome you all back through our doors to create some more happy memories on our return!

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Holberry Hounders a happy and healthy new year, hoping all your dreams come true for 2025.🌟
